Hi all. This is my first post ever, but I've been reading this forum a long time.

I just got home today from Vegas. I play mainly just blackjack, and low stakes- usually $10-$15 tables. At Bally's yesterday I had a (at three cards) soft 17 against a dealer 7. I hit it and the hand got worse, so I resolved to just keep hitting until hard seventeen or bust. I've played a long time, but this was my first non-bust seven card hand! The pit boss let me take a picture. And yes, the dealer stood on 7-face...

every once in a while the player gets lucky instead of the dealer ... I was watching a buddy play BJ last weekend and the dealer kept dealing him 12s and pulling 6 card 21s. it was sick, he got totally murdered.

My freakiest bad streak was at Circus-Circus many years ago... get this:
A two-deck game... I was dealt twelve 12s in a row...and on all twelve of them, the dealer had a 7 or better showing.
I hit a ten to every single one of them.

After the 9th one, I commented to the dealer about the "streak". She had a puzzled, thoughtful look on her face for a moment, and then said, "you're right...that's incredible."
She then called the pit over before dealing the next hand and told him about it. Pit stood there and watched as it happened 3 more times.

Even he commented, "wow - incredible."

It can be a strange game sometimes...thank goodness I was flat-betting $5 the whole time.

Wow tennlee, what an exciting hand to win! It's great that you got the photo too. I can't recall ever going past 5 cards and then busting.

Thanks for sharing, glad you jumped to the posting side!

Those are nice ones to actually win with. Am I the only one who actually feels physically spent after one of those? (Okay, maybe I'm not in the best shape in the world.)

A 7 card 21 would pay 3:1 in Spanish 21, and is easier to get, without the 10 cards in the game.

    I had 4, 5 (playing heads up).

    Dealer had a 4 up.

    I doubled and got a 10.

    Dealers hand went 4, 4, 4, 4, 4.

Crazy! Having to hit that many times makes my stomach hurt!

Once my husband split aces FOUR times and lost every single one to the dealer :(

yes, just watching. I will play a little BJ every once in a while, but not a chance I was going to jump on that table after seeing him get slaughtered. it was a DD game and every shoe was the same no matter who cut, whether they played 1, 2, 3 hands, etc. it was just ice cold. I didn't feel like running into a buzz saw.

I too ran into this situation on my last trip to Vegas. I split aces 4 times and had 17-20 on all four and the dealer drew to a 21 :grrr:

Then the dealer has to rub it in by saying "I've never seen that! That never happens!"

    Ugh.

I was playing on a cruise ship back in june and had AA
rules are one split only and no further cards.

so I split and got another ace one each card -

    lost both hands

about 30 minutes later I got AA again. Split again and got A 2

    woopee- dealer bust....

I didn't AA anymore after that...

I believe Binion's offered a bonus for a 6 card 21. It's been awhile since I played BJ there.

The strangest hand I ever got was when I drew 2 7's and then the next six cards were also 7's. Basically, I kept resplitting 7's until the dealer said I couldn't split any further. I was a newbie BJ player at the time and the other more well-seasoned players were tripping balls saying they had never seen something like that before. Won the hand too!

Years ago, in Colorado when some of the Indian casinos first opened, I was playing in small town of Ignacio, very small casino, I think originally they had maybe 4-5 BJ tables. Max bet by law was $5 a hand. Because of this, if they were slow, they would let you play as many hands as you wanted. I was there at 4am one time, empty table, said to heck with it, played all 6 spots at $5 a hand.

Bought in for a $100, the usual up and down stuff. About 4th or 5th hand, I get 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, and yes, another 12. Dealer and I are both amazed, call pit over, he is like WOW. Of course dealer has a 10. And here is where it got interesting. To be honest, I don't remember what exactly I got, BUT I made everyone of those 6 hands and dealer flipped over a 5 or 6 and then busted!! Pit looked at me and said, Sir, you should go buy a lottery ticket!

This would have been early 90's, and I am happy to say max bet has been increased in Colorado to $100 and they now more table games available.

I remember a dealer at the Four Queens getting a seven card 21 when I was sitting on the same total with my largest bet of the day. Ouch! Too bad the dealer didn't get it at Hit and Run with the $1 side bet.

I've had a few 5- and 6-card hands over the years, yet never even come close when playing a game that offered a bonus for same... :grrr:
