I just received comp mail from Riviera.I think the big winner drained the riviera out.The comp is so poor, totally different from the old comp mails. And they shut down the buffet! I think buffet is the sympol of a casino.

If a free room cost Riviera $20. 1M dollar can make Riviera give away 50000 nights rooms .if 2 people a room,it's100,000 peoples! Then its buffet will be in good business and more people in the Riviera casino and shows.

Those big wins are paid by the slot machine companies, not the casinos.

The Riviera died 10 -12 years ago, give it up, the ho is gone, the dust is gone, the CC is dead, the sahara is gone, it's over, the fact they are dying and dont even try to compete is embarrassing.

Hope they can hang on until some of the neighboring properties get built out. It's really not that bad, rooms are clean and I'd give it a 3*. For an upcoming trade show, I could stay here for $34 a night and a discounted $5 resort fee in the Monaco tower. I ran a few twenties through a wheel of fortune machine Two years ago and I get some mailers for free rooms. It's within walking distance to the convention center, the LVH is just behind if you wanted to use the Monorail. It's close to Peppermill, Wynn/Encore and Circus Circus and Slots o'Fun is across the street. The 108 runs up and down Paradise Rd. along the rear entrance to the Riv., for a cheap trip to and from the airport. The Deuce stops in front. The SDX is about a 5 minute walk via Kishner Drive to the stop at Convention Center Drive.

Yeah, the Sahara advertised that for a year or so before it closed...no way a casino can make money today on a $1 table.
