Well, work just destroyed my Vegas fight weekend so now I'm looking at the alternatives.

Considering Halloween will be on a Thursday this year, how is Vegas on Halloween night of the 31st?

It'll be busy, lots of people drinking, people in costumes.

But the majority of the halloween celebrating will be done the weekend before.

Thursday's not a terrible night to be there for Halloween -- but the big, official parties and madness will be the weekend prior. Halloween is an amazingly good time in Vegas.

This will be my first Halloween in Vegas. I can't wait. I enjoy people watching almost as much as playing slots, so this should is going to be a blast.

All the major events are the week before. We arrive on the 24th in order to hit everything during prime time.

I've been in Vegas several times over Halloween. It's always fun. We love walking around and trying to figure out who is in costume and who is just out dressed "like that" lol. Many times we couldn't tell.

This Halloween will be my 3rd in a row mostly because the weather is just abiout perfect. Don't really see a ton dressed up and the casino's won't allow masks.{The one's I've be to} I have to say I only see a few with stuff on and that's mostly after midnight and more the night before Halloween.

Can't wait! Will be our first Halloween in Vegas in 60 days! We plan to just people watch, drink ourselves silly, roam the strip. Now to get her to wear that little outfit I bought her. Maybe on the strip ;)

Yeah, I've been out there a number of times over Halloween and will be there this year as well. Heading out the 22nd to spend a couple of days with a high school buddy that's lived in Vegas about 11 years. Then my other buddy comes in from Columbus the 24th.

It's a blast out there over Halloween (the eye candy ain't bad either), but it's a nightmare for hotel/casino security. If you're looking for the younger crowd, I'd suggest Palms, Hard Rock or, on the Strip, PHO.

I'm splitting my Oct stay between Cosmo and Palms; fun vibe at both! The weather was wonderful last Halloween.

This will be my third consecutive Halloween in Vegas, as well. I don't go out for the big w/e club parties before Halloween, and on Halloween night in Minnesota it's often a bit of a buzzkill, so a weeknight Halloween in Vegas is perfect for me.

There are plenty of people downtown on Halloween night showing off all sorts of costumes, and it has been rather pleasant... warmer than you'll get in Minnesota. (We famously had a blizzard on Halloween 1991, two feet of snow. That came a year after we had a very mild Halloween night. Mild for us on Oct. 31 is 60 degress. Most years parents need layers of clothing under their children's costumes if they're going trick-or-treating.)

I was looking forward to checking out the Amazing Johnathan's Screamont Experiment, but I'm not sure it will be back. And there will be no Las Vegas Haunts asylum on Fremont Street this year. They're keeping it paired with their other attraction outside of downtown.

It must be your California accent that confused me. With that, I'll defer to your expertise. I haven't spent time on the strip on Halloween night. I have read, repeatedly, that there's plenty of costumed action up and down the strip, but it's not as if there's an epicenter for it like Fremont Street provides.

From what I saw of downtown the past two years, it was a great show. I saw less of it last year, however, as I spent my night at the Hard Rock, attending a Guns 'n' Roses concert.

I took in the parade two years ago and was underwhelmed by its organization. It was organized, but the flow was horrible since there was judging in several categories and the area where the judging took place, a few blocks before Fremont Street, was a bottleneck thanks to the judges and emcee thinking they were the entertainment, rather than the parade. (American Idol is a disease.)

I suspect, however, that the parade helped bring a lot of great costumed folk to downtown.

I haven't gone wrong with the free show downtown, and I'll be back this year.

I got conned into taking my Nephew and his friend Trick Or Treating in that Blizzard of 91. I got a ton of candy from sympathetic parents..LOL
Looking forward to the nice weather, i just wish i could have been there on Halloween night. Thought i could maybe do some haunt related stuff but the things i want to do open the day after we go home and the one show i wanted to see, Evil Dead the musical...only open on weekends...But hey, i can still get some sort of pumpkin beer and a spooky drink or two.
