Free self-servce Soda, coffee, juice in casino

You see,many casinos has free Soda coffee juice machines or carts for us.But in las vegas,it is only a few female staffs speaking"cocktails cocktails".

Are there some casinos in las vegas have free Soda coffee juice machines or carts just like the other states' casino?

 

None I am aware of other than some poker rooms have coffee.

 

I HEARD that The M has machines. But - I am personally not aware of any.

 

The M DID have machines when they first opened, but have since removed them. If I remember right, it became an issue with the health department, and people were coming in with their own containers and filling them up.

 

There are huge differences between the standards of an indian casinos and a las vegas ones. This is an example of one of them.

 

But you can still get sodas or coffee from the cocktail waitresses. You don't have to order an alcoholic drink.

 

Some states - or better yet, just some casinos.

In Tunica, for example, the Hollywood Casino has self serve soda/coffee. Five other casinos that I frequent there do not offer this.

Seems to be hit and miss who offers this and who doesen't. Combination of mgmt decisions and probably health department influence. Would not be surprised if Unions get in on it.

 

You could always use/abuse the drinks machines in the Food Courts (assuming they exist, I can't say I've used a fast food franchise within a casino)

 

Not only indian casinos that have the machines however. The MGM Grand Detroit has self serve fountain pop machines.

 

That is the one of the things I like about my local casino, if I'm walking around and feel like a soda/water/coffee I can stop at a self serve machine and grab one. I'll be honest though, when I'm in Vegas the only time I'm ordering one of those is if I had a pretty rough night before and don't want to start drinking immediately.

 

They have self service coke/pepsi machines in Southern Indiana casinos, Horseshoe , French Lick. It's nice, but there is no free booze for players in Indiana, so Vegas wins.

 

yes~ I think so many travelers who dont want to paly in casinos.So the strip and downtown casino should waive the soda machines and soda carts. But some casino is far from travel spot, they should add soda machines and soda carts to increase competitiveness.

 

They have them at Harrah's Council Bluffs. Also at the OK casinos near me, Windstar and Choctaw. Vegas wants you hammered on Vodka and the like instead of Diet Coke!

 

There's a lot of truth to that. Vegas places- Strip places in particular- want to take it all from you right now because you're a tourist. Getting you loaded and keeping you at the machine waiting for drinks to arrive help with that. Locals casinos want you for life, so they don't mind if you step away from the machine for five minutes to get a diet cola.

State laws probably get involved, too. In Ohio, for example, free alcoholic drinks are not legal.

My favorite non-Vegas casino, Soaring Eagle in Michigan, has free nonalcoholic drinks at a stand like the ones at many fast food places.

That same "soak the suckers" philosophy is a big reason that Strip casinos offer lousy machine games while the better machine games are mostly at locals casinos. Locals places want you to come back, so they take a little less of your money each time. The only way the big places get you back to play their shitty games is to offer comps.

 

Likewise, I've had the free soda at Louisiana casinos and loved it.

I don't drink very much alcohol when I'm in Vegas and the cocktail waitresses bring those sad little mini bottles of water or soda in a cocktail glass. now I just stop by a gas station and get a big gulp or Starbucks and get an iced coffee. Then I don't have to worry about the paltry non-alcoholic sizes.

 

it is ok if they keep the beverege area clean and keep out the people who just want free soda. but it will never happen in any nice casino because they dont want to look like a burger king. there are already too many bums in vegas so i vote no to free self serve machines.

 

Too bad, I liked that with the M, that you could get as much sodas as you want but as others mentioned, it was abused a lot, I remember seeing people filling up their bottles or big gulp cups and then leaving, not even gambling so I guess it wasn't worth having it around.

but then I see abuse even at home in honolulu. even though sodas at mcd's are only $1 for now I still see families coming into mcd's with their old cups and filling them up for free, not even buying anything but abusing the service provided. too bad as one day mcd's will get rid of it (open fountain area) if it is abused too much.

 

I think they can make a machine which should insert the club card,and then get soda.

 

Casinos would be overrun by homeless bums.

 

All of the Council Bluffs casinos have it. (BTW, not impressed by the new "improved" Harrah's!) Yes, it is nice.

However, they don't comp (adult) drinks on the floor to lowly Gold players!
