Has anyone stayed in a Slaon Suite (which is really just a nice sized room) at Bellagio recently? We're booked for one in two weeks and I told them I wanted to be in the Main/Bellagio Tower but I talked to the hotel today and they said the Salon Suites in the Spa Tower have been renovated and the same rooms in the Main tower have not. I actually like the original colors a little better than the blues and greens of the renovated rooms but I'm curious if the Salon Suites that haven't been remodeled are so worse for wear that we'd be better off going for the Spa Tower.

    Thoughts?

Stayed a year ago in one, but it was the Main Tower. Nice room. you're right, its not a true suite. Just a really big single room. But it had a large bathroom. Mine was at the absolute end of the hallway, so it was a bit of a hike to get to it. That was my only complaint

There aren't any great views of the fountains from any room in the Spa Tower. If you're wanting the most romantic sight/music in Las Vegas, stay in the Main Tower and get a fountain view. Just my two cents

Thanks UK... yea, I was told they all are at the very end of the hallways, that's how they get that bed in the corner w/ the 2 window configuration. One good thing is you don't hear all the people coming and going if you're like me and hit the sack about midnight:poke:

So you're room was not remodeled? And was it still in pretty nice shape (carpets, bathroom fixtures, furniture, etcc)? Flat screen at least?

It was very quiet. Yeah, I was not in a remodeled room and it was fine. It was in great shape

they have remodeled the suites at the B several times over the years. so they've never really gotten worn. I actually like the last iteration much better than the new ones. however, the thing about the salone suites is that they're not on the suite floors, they're on the regular floors. so I would say that the salone suites likely were not included in the suite remodels over the years. they were likely only included in the most recent entire-building remodel. in that case, the un-remodeled ones would be pretty worn.

Then maybe I just got lucky because the one I stayed in last October was in real good shape

Thanks guys...I'll let you know how we make out in a few weeks. I just really want to be in the Main Tower...we've stayed at Bellagio twice and both have been in the Spa tower. Nice pool access from there but you always have to navigate that lookie-loo lobby area to get back and forth from the casino. Plus, I like to gamble in the morning and have coffee and the coffee shop is over by the Main Tower....to a degree, that Spa tower just feels like an afterthought and maybe it was....not sure if that was in Steve's original plan or not.....or did MGM add that? I forget...time is going by way too fast.

I hope I have the same experience that you did UK.

Salon suite is just a large room, but real large bathroom. Both my wife and I have woken up early and gone in their to read or do computer stuff while the other sleeps.

    No view to speak of.

Unless that big bathroom is cool for you, or the large living area next to the bed, I would consider a fountain view regular room, unless of course you are tired of the fountains.

As to noise - in a half dozen stays at Bellagio in all kinds of room, never really heard any hallway noise, even when closer to elevators.

NoStress...I appreciate that advice. I pretty much figured that since they are all end/corner rooms that the view is probably not all that great. I'm really OK w/ a view out to the pool area or a partial fountain view. I really feel like the fountains are best enjoyed live and close up. A large bathroom is important to us, we're used to the rooms at Encore that are very similar to the size of these except Encore is about 100 sq ft smaller. I like having the couch and semi living area and it doesn't have to be a true suite. We actually had a Cypress Suite at the Beau Rivage one time and it was just my wife and I and we thought "what a waste...we should have some freinds here to enjoy all this space and party with"....we hardly used it. All in all, this is just the perfect size room for us.

Probably just me, but I have a broader definition of what constitutes a good view. For me, it doesn't have to be a Strip view to be good. The Salon Suite I was in had a view of Caesars and northwest Vegas and mountains. I found it relaxing to soak in the tub with a view of all those twinkling lights and the sun setting behind the mountains

Had a lake view Salone Suite back in 2006. One view was obviously looking over the lake and the south strip, the other window was of the north strip. It was one of the best views I've had so far. If I can find a pic, I'll post it.

We stayed in a lake view Salone Suite in late 2007, it was the northeast corner of the 28th floor with a great view of the fountains, The secondary view was of the north Strip and Caesars Augustus Tower. (I also have pics which I'll post if I can find them.)

I think I remember staying in one and my only complaint was there shower wasn't a steam shower. I don't remember if it was a Salon or Bellagio Suite. One of them has it and the other doesn't.
