I do like their remodeled rooms. Much better than before, and the bed is ultra comfortable. I would request a room near the elevators because some of those hallways can be long, and you are going to walk enough throughout the hotel already.

The tower one bedroom is the former hollywood suite, they are on the endcaps of the building and are only available on floors 6 through 12 I think. They are at the end of the hall so not so close to the elevator. They're nice rooms but so are the spa suites which are also not so close to the elevator.

Thanks for everyone's help, not being close to the elevator does not sound good. MGM stay will be the last 4 days of our trip the first 6 days will be at TI.We wanted to relax the last the 4 days and the MGM and Mandalay Bay pools look great. The rooms we wanted at MB were sold out (Sept 16-20) keep the help coming, the MGM stay is not carved in stone yet.

As EdinPa said these are the former Hollywood Suites and are at the very end of the hall.
There are 2 hallways that are very long and one is not so bad.
They are true suites though with a spacious living room and bathroom.
The Spa Suites are not really suites in that they are oversized rooms that are not separate living and bedroom.
If you can take the walk, the Tower King Suites are usually a great value.

Last time there I stayed in a City View Suite. These the first room are right off the elevator.
They are an L shape and not an completely separate bedroom and living room.
In my opinion these are nicer than the Spa Suites in they they are more separate rooms but no dividing door.

Which suites are closer to the pool area, new tower king suites or spa suites?

there's only one set of elevators at MGM, so it's all the same.

And FYI, its a bit of a hike to the pools from the elevators. I am not an MGM expert, but I think the Signature towers, however, are closer to the pools

If you book a spa suite request it to be in the North Tower. It is a private key carded entrance and it right by the watch boutique. You loose your view, however you are closer to the pool and spa if that is whats important.

Depending where your room is, theres more elevators hidden behind the bar close to the side entrance near the MGM mansions. 10 second walk from the strip. i think the bar is called Rouge?

They are great because they are nearly always empty.

I can tell you that the spa suite I was in last month was literally at the end of the hallway.

We were extremely happy with our room at the MGM. We were in a Grand King room, on the 18th of the Grand Tower. Very spacious room and bathroom. It is a hike to the pool, but any room is going to be unless you are in the Signature. But if you are over there, you have your own pools anyways.

    Walk to pools.

The walk to the pools looks long. I booked grand king premier view. What king of hike is to get to the pools would you say?

Through part of the casino, and the District. 5-10 minutes depending on the crowd.

I just staying in the Premier Grand Queen View on the 19th floor this past weekend and I was happy with it...HD TV, VERY comfortable beds, granite in the bathroom, hidden safe, small "bar" area to make drinks.

I would def stay in it again...
