Asking host about Free Play

Each trip we call our host to set up the Limo ride from the airport and room.
When we ask about Free Play he asks if we have any offers and if so we have to provide the code.

I thought just like the rooms, the host is able to arrange some Free Play as well. He never asks about codes when providing the room so why do so with Free Play?

What is the official word on this?
Are hosts allowed to give out Free Play or only allowed to give out what is currently assigned?

 

No official word here, but I email my host at MSS and she sets up the limo, room & food. The only free play I get is what comes as part of the corporate offer.

Last trip the timing worked out, so as part of the mailer, I could enter a slot tournament. I was told I could only do one or the other, free play or tourney, but not both. I took free play.

 

I don't think MGM hosts have discretion to grant or increase free play above whatever offers you might have from corporate or an individual property.

They might be able to make a call/pull some strings to get some or increase it, but not do it totally on their own.

 

It appears my experience is on par with what you are saying.

FP/promo chips are nearly impossible to get these days from a host unless you're a huge player. just be glad that you get offers with FP. they stopped doing offers with promo chips for table players a long time ago.

 

Ditto what Joe said. Neither MGM or Wynn will allow you to combine offers (slot tourney with free play) and neither will just randomly give you free play. Maybe if you play at Natedog's level...... We are dollar and five dollar slot and vp players and we never get random amounts of free play unless they were part of a corporate offer.

 

My Mandalay Bay host told me that they are no longer allowed to give free play or promo chips of any kind. I was able to get $400 promo chips from my recent offer at Cosmo. This wasn't through the host, it was a direct marketing offer from the casino.

 

that's their standard answer, but the truth is they definitely still give them for the right players. but it takes a huge level of play these days.

 

CET and Cosmo absolutely still give decent promo chips for mid level table play. MGM props do not.

 

As always it can't hurt to ask. In setting up a return trip from my recent catastrophe, I told my host I didn't need RFL and wouldn't mind freeplay in return. She gave me $2k "based on previous play"...I took that to mean its a loss rebate.

 

Which casino did you get this?

 

Maybe its not quite the same thing but on my last trip at MGM my host honored a freeplay offer that was expired a month earlier. I asked if he could because the current offer had less freeplay and he agreed right away.

yeah don't you know that everybody who bets $3k a hand can get at least $10k FP just for walking in the door???!!! or maybe that's only for him because they want to entice him back so they can get their money back after he "smashed" them for $3k.

 

Disagree. My hostess routinely adds $200-$300 FP to whatever i have coming, i just ask. I get usually around $300 as part of my corporate offer and for example i just booked a trip for Aug 31st and when i emailed to reserve a room she said she's add $200 for a total of $500 FP. Of course i always stay at this property and always go through her. Good luck.


P.S. In case you're wondering im no huge player. I mean i gamble from when i wake up til i pass out but not "High Roller" stuff. I just play video keno/slots at $1.00-$4.00 a spin. Usually about $1000 a day bankroll for 4 or 5 days.

 

Just curious...based on your other posts, is the property you are referring to, NYNY? For Mlife, I play mostly at Mirage or Bellagio, but starting to play more at Aria. I feel most at home and comfortable at Mirage. I do two back-to-back 5 day trips every January and several 2-3 days trips throughout the year. My bankroll for the big January trips is 20k, which I very nearly burned through this January playing only $25 ante UTH...it was an unbelievably cold run and the worst i have experienced. Then again, if you break it down by day, it only comes out to 2k per day, which is not an unreasonable loss for playing $25 UTH. The most free play I have been offered in a corporate offer is $100.

 

I have yet to be able to get extra promo chips on request in Vegas. My current offers have been $750 and have note increased with my play.

However, has anyone's host ever NOT told them they had free play?
I was in AC this weekend at after missing my vegas flight.
I never went to the promotions desk ever before but stopped there on
My last day because I got lost going to the restroom.
I saw they had a free gas card Giveaway so she asked to see my card.
She said "do you know You have $500 chip voucher, you can pick it up at the cage" She further confirmed I've had this offer before while there,
I just never knew.

Am I foolish I think my host should be informing me of any offers I have available? He's always taken good care of me, or so I thought.

After grabbing the chip, I did end up winning $4,900 total.
Over my one night stay I clocked 7.5 hours all double zero
Roulette at 280/avg.

I ran up a nearly $1,700 room charge bill which included ringside boxing
Seats, acupuncture massage, and a ton of killer food.
He did comp the full bill.

They also have me a retail comp voucher for a few hundred bucks to shop which which I used to get my gf a purse.

 

playing table games you're lucky to get any FP at all. they don't do promo chips for table players anymore and FP is usually reserved for slot players only.

 

I play table games only, and that is my experience too; I get tons of offers that include suites, tickets, limos, lots of resort credit... but never freeplay.
