    My Trip Report

Combining a mini-trip report to the Beau Rivage over the 4thof July and a few trips to Harrah's in New Orleans....
received a 3 night comp to BR in Biloxi that included 2 free show tickets...purchased an additional 2 tickets and took the family. After the show, took the kids to the arcade for a while, then tucked them and wife in bed - time to go gamble a bit. The Beau was packed being a holiday weekend so I sat at an empty single deck BJ table. I have never been a fan of single deck, but it was one of the only available spots to play. Played 11 decks with an average win per deck of $100 then finally lost on the 12th deck...colored up with a $1000 profit. Next day was lazy by the pool. Did a little gambling that night...tried my luck at the same single deck...nice little profit of $450. Weather was starting to get bad so we decided to head home after the second night. Good, fast and profitable trip....back home to NOLA.

Although I live about 5 miles from Harrah's in New Orleans, I had not been there in quite some time. I decided to go there two weeks ago on a Saturday morning....when I used to frequent Harrah's, I only had decent luck in the morning.
Sat at a $25 double deck, played for 34 minutes and quickly colored up for a $700 profit. Went home to take the kids to birthday party....could not stand prosperity so I decided to go back to the same location on Sunday. I sat at the same double deck blackjack table, bought in for $1000, and in about 25 minutes colored up for $3000 for a nice $2000 profit.
I decided to go back to Harrahs this morning and behold my favorite double deck blackjack table was not open yet. So I went and played single deck blackjack and lost $500 in about 15 minutes. I was hoping that the $25 DD blackjack table was open but it was not... So I decided to up the ante and went to a $100 double deck blackjack table with one other person playing. The player told me that the cards have been awful. I bought in for $1500 and within six decks I had doubled my money plus some and colored up for $4600. Thanks Harrah's maybe I will stay away for a while and come back and see you in a few months.

I've only visited Harrah's New Orleans once. I found it to lack the same vibe as any other casino I have ever visited in any city, for some strange reason. I mainly play slots and Roulette and had NO luck at either there. Besides, there just wasn't an energized feel throughout. Maybe since I had just come from Beau Rivage in Biloxi the previous day, where the casino is very similar to LV or even Tunica casinos, I just experienced a letdown. However, my main goal in visiting that Harrahs was to convert TR credits to a dining voucher that is generously offered to most of the nicer restaurants throughout New Orleans. This is such an amazing perk to me that I just had to take advantage of it. We went to Commander's Palace and used the voucher for an amazing experince without any out of pocket expense. The only other such perk was in St. Louis through Harrah's there, until they pulled out of the market.

Harrah's in NOLA is definitely hit or miss re: vibe. When I was a frequent visitor, it was 95% of the time in the morning, so the casino "vibe" was not really there. On weekend nights, however, the place is usually packed or if there is a big convention in town, it can be quite congested during the daytime as well.

i play in tunica but go to biloxi sometimes too and also harrahs new orleans three times now but always on weekends and it was too packed for me and people were very rude. pushing and talking loud and blowing smoke everywhere.
plus i always loose there i think the games are rigged because i loose fast and the dealer makes every hand. you should come up to tunica its better and the games arent rigged.

How is Harrah's NOLA licensed? Is it on tribal land? Because it's not in Nevada or New Jersey.
