I've never stayed at Harrah's but have booked 3 nights around Halloween. I'm looking for experiences and suggestions on room types and the slot floor.

We don't spend much time in the room, so as long as it's clean, the bed is comfortable, bug free and the noise level is not blasting we're generally good.

My room experiences at Harrah's have been okay. Mostly clean, comfortable, and bug free. Can't comment on quiet, because I could sleep through anything.

My only complaint (pet peeve of mine)- last 2 stays at Harrah's the shower drain didn't keep up. At the end of a shower, the water was past ankle deep. I hate that.

I've never had any problem with the Harrah's rooms. They are what they are, clean and bland.

As a tip, if you're a coffee drinker. The Starbucks on the casino floor always has a line a mile long, especially in the morning. There is another Starbucks one floor directly above the Casino Starbucks that never seems to have a line. I remember going downstairs to the 2nd floor Starbucks one morning to get 2 coffees. When I got on the elevator, there was a man there with a couple coffees in his hand. He asked me where I got mine, told him 'right there' and pointed to the Starbucks. He asked how long I waited in line. Told him no line. He about dropped his coffees. He waited 45 minutes.

Twice I've had a problem with the toilet. Once it started leaking (maintenance came promptly and fixed it) and once - different stay, different toilet - it just wasn't flushing properly. Repair took two calls, but it was fixed.

My only other frustration with Harrah's has been that the room is serviced very late in the day. We are from the east coast, so even in Las Vegas, we tend to be up and running early. (I love having the casino to myself at 7am and doing laps in the pool at 9am.) So with my booking for October, I paid (NO COMPS) for a petite suite which is on the side of the hallway that is serviced first and specifically asked for early housekeeping. Nothing is worse than having housekeeper knock on the door during our 4pm nap to finally get fresh towels!

Love, love, love Harrah's location and I'm comfortable at that property. Still hoping for a better room rate and using my husband's TR to continue checking.

Have never had any problems with Harrahs. It reminds me of a Holiday Inn, nothing fancy but fine especially for Vegas where you probably won't be in the room that much. I would recommend the Carnival tower as my personal preference. Just stayed there and was not impacted by construction or construction noise at all.

I think there's a lot of folks who don't remember that...or Debbie Reynolds for that matter.

    (edit-to-add):
That was about the same time, wasn't it? Late 90s?

Or you could do what we are going to do--bring our own coffee maker and all necessary supplies. We do drive there so don't have to worry about baggage.

The thermostats in the rooms shut off when you leave the room, and also after a certain amount of time with no movement. So, if you are hot natured, you can have maintenance disable the sensor on the thermostat. I tried that in April and it worked like a charm. Made the room tolerable when I came back for a shower or quick break.

I had no luck in the casino at all, but that was everywhere. Good food at Toby Keiths.

I actually stayed at the Debbie Reynolds a couple nights. My wife and I drove to Vegas from San Diego without room reservations back in 96 I believe. Stopped at Excalibur only to find out they were full. Called Treasure Island and so were they. Stopped at one of the Strip tours and ticket places to see if they could be any help. They got us into the Reynolds for $59 a night. Very nice rooms, very small casino. Didn't play there much at all.

We're gonna start brining our own coffee maker, especially after reading the posts about college kids and coffee pots. Vegas is about the only time we drink Starbucks though.

We also drive to Vegas. 5 hours to get there. 7 hours to drive home.

Thanks for the replies, we're not coffee drinkers, but have to have our Pepsi to start off the day.

Stayed there a few times in 2012. The rooms are simple. Bland. Convenient. Good friendly staff. Major plus of Harrahs was that Executive Shuttle have its own stop there. Don't know if they are available anymore since I heard they stopped their service between the airport and the hotels. Make sure if you stay there know how to turn off that darn fan. It is very loud and can affect your sleep. Good temperature control. It is surprisingly better than the ones at the Encore.

Have stayed at Harrahs 3 times now and have not had any problems at all. I find if you specifically ask for a quiet room they will try very hard to accommodate.

Was just there in July for my bachelor party and last October. No complaints at all. Stayed in the Classic room, clean and on point.

Last October stayed in a Luxury Room with a "strip" view. Don't bother. No strip view at Harrahs when compared to the other hotels. We stayed in it due to the price was the same as the classic room. If it's higher priced for your stay you're wasting your money.

If you have a Total Rewards card make sure you get in the right line since regular check in is 4 PM. The sign is right in front of the ATM machine across from check in. Most people walk by it thinking it's for platinum or whatever and stand in the long line. We checked in at 2:30 PM and I'm the basic entry level card member with no extra charge. If you are staying with a group at the hotel get all of the confirmation numbers and call to put a request in to try to get connecting rooms. They do not guarantee it but it can occur. We had 8 rooms needed and got 6 connected night 1 and the other 2 rooms able to connect down at our end the 2nd night.

If you are a Starbucks person and need your coffee in the morning do not go to the one in the main lobby by the check in right outside the elevators. One floor up across from Toby Keith's Bar and Grill is one that only serves coffee. Open until 5 PM if I remember correctly.

If you are there Halloween Night which is a Thursday Toby Keith's bar has for the women all you can drink all night for $15 every Thursday night.

    Hope this helps and enjoy

Stayed at Harrahs once it was good, in my opinion its not a fantastic room but it was nice and clean and comfortable. If your not going to be in the room the casino area is nice and was upgraded within months(april '12-dec '12) they ended up putting new games and slots. The noise didn't bother me at all at night we could hear the carnival area but it didn't keep us up and the construction wasn't a problem at all.
