I guess this just really grinds my gears. People who take a stack full(more then likely) of coupons from just about anywhere in Vegas and sell them on eBay. The same coupons that are absolutely free to me and you at just about any Las Vegas kiosk, hotel, taxi, newsstand, etc.

I realize this doesn't effect me personally, but the nerve of some people to make a profit from this.

You can report auctions you think are a problem, but I'm not sure what their rules are about "free" coupons.

A fool and his money are soon parted:poke:

This doesn't really bother me any more than somebody selling matchbooks from closed casinos. They got those free also.

If there are people stupid enough to bid on free coupons, why get mad at the seller?

I'm so torn on this. On one hand this is brilliant. On the other hand, so very wrong.

No different than McDs telling people they're getting food in that Happy Meal. lol It's like people chasing all over Vegas to save two bucks but spending four hours of vacation time and 30 bucks in the process. Or people going bid-crazy on eBay buying shit they could buy for less at retail or market price elsewhere.

Why does this matter one tiny iota? Sounds like a textbook case of capitalism at work, and for that we should be cheering.

Hehe:evillaugh…stuff like this always reminds me of those old Guinness ads: “Brilliant!”

But yeah, kind of a dick move.

I think its a great idea and wish I would have thought it up first.

I admire people who think outside the box to make money.

    Brilliant.

In looking at a couple of the eBay listings, it looks like on September 1, they won't allow some bogo coupons.

i'm not sure of the exact coupons or prices , but for someone who doesn't know a thing about vegas, it may be win/win. i would buy a book of bogo palazzo coffee coupons at the right price without thinking twice.

No, this is actually pretty smart and enterprising.

The thing with these coupons is that if somebody hasn't been to Las Vegas over and over again they aren't necessarily going to know that these coupons are available or where to get them from... thinking from personal experience: after whatever its been now, 14 or 15 or 16 trips to Las Vegas, I know exactly where I can get almost all these coupons but it really wasn't until my third trip that I found my first coupon book, got my first "fun book" from a hotel and started signing up for player cards everywhere.

That the coupons are free, who cares? Somebody put the time and effort in to go get the coupons, the time to post a listing on ebay and they'll be spending money on postage and envelopes... so the coupons aren't really "free" to them.

Yes, takes a lot of time to get them when they are scattered in every nook and cranny in Vegas at which you can literally grab stacks of them. And yes, the coupons are really free to them. Do I count the time it takes me to walk from casino to casino to use them....thats my time being wasted. Ok Ok enough with my over exaggerating. Just think its a shitty technique at which people prey on idiots who do not know how to do there own research. Takes no more time for them to post on here..."where can I get some coupon books"....30 posts later they realize they can get them evvvvvvvverywhere.

I actually bought some NYNY BOGO roller coaster coupons off ebay before our last trip. I know if I looked hard enough and walked around enough and just happened to come across these coupons they would be free. But they cost me $1.99 and I had them in my hand a week or so before our trip. I was glad there was somebody on Ebay selling these. That $1.99 was cheap to me.

They provided a service to me that was well worth the $1.99.

So some of you posters think Ponzi schemes are good ideas too. They are providing a honest service to people who know that they can be obtained [coupons]free, but choose the service. Read Adam Smith "The Wealth of Nations". Imagine if all these shysters would put their brains and energy to creating positive ways of making money. :wink2:

it is not similar to a ponzi scheme at all since they are delivering the product promised for the price paid

it is no different that people that get free government publications that are not trade marked or protected (not protected by the government on purpose) and reprint them in a slightly different format and sell them......that is pretty much what "ask lesko" does.....he sells information that is readily available for free to people that are too ignorant or lazy to find it themselves for free

free market rules, no one's forcing these people to buy free coupons. If there are willing buyers, there's no reason to get angry at the sellers.

I sold Foursquare CET coupons on eBay and I was thanked by people for basically picking up the coupons for them. Like what if someone doesn't have a smart phone and they can't get the 4Sq coupons? I helped them out.

Couldn't of said it better myself.

People who think outside the box make a hell of a lot more money than those who listen to their boss. And how are these people scumbags, just cause you didn't think of it first?? Nobody is forcing you to click the "buy now" eBay button.

This is a weird one for me. Reminds me of the vultures that come to your yard/garage sale as you are packing up the stuff that you intend to either donate, or throw away and tell you they're with some charity and offer to do it for you, for "free." In reality most of them are either flea market vendors, or Ebay hawks and have no intention of donating shit to anybody. Where I do find it enterprising it's kind of, I don't know, scammy. Sorta feel the same way about people selling free coupons. However, there is a market for almost everything in this wonderful country of ours, and in this dismal, anemic, piss poor economy, if you can make a dollar doing anything - do it!

    each to his own

If they can sell air guitars, empty Xbox boxes, and fairy wands (a stick with a rock or crystal glued to it) why not free coupons

I'm going to Vegas on Sunday, where are the best places to pick up these free coupons?

Best bet is to see the Concierge at whatever hotel you're staying at and ask the. You can also obtain whold coupon books them in a taxi cab, but beware a lot of the time those books are expired. Vegas is coupon city.
