I am now thinking of doing an earlier trip than my Nov trip lol, this one aug25-28, really hot i know.

I want to do this one on the cheaper.

I found similar prices for the Palms resort and Monte Carlo.

Which one? I seem to read the Monte Carlo rooms are quite outdated?

It would be Premium room at the Palms $206 versus monaco suite at monte carlo $224

    Thanks

I think it comes down to location. MC is on the strip, Palms isn't. I'm sure Palms has better rooms but do you really want to cab/walk/bus/shuttle it to the strip each time. But if you don't want to be on the strip and are fine to stay around Palms/Rio/Gold Coast, then perhaps Palms will be fine. Or if you have a car, perhaps it doesn't matter either, but then I'd have to worry about drinking and driving.

The Monaco Suite is a big room with two bathrooms -- a full bath and then one with just a toilet and sink. It's not bad, but it's nothing special. Average furnishings. Has a sofa and a fridge.

I don't know how to better describe it...it's really, really average. But like I said, it's quite large -- way bigger than a regular room.

I guess i would get what i pay for? Mmmm maybe Palms better as it looks newer/modern for same price. Smaller rooms of course.

Not too worried about location. I won't be in any rush.

Any transit time means less money spent lol (my dad talking)

I stayed at the MC years back and I enjoyed it. But I might just for curiosities sake to try the Palms. Simple reason I like The Rio and restaurants ( except for the Seafood buffy) and IMHO the GC offers a good value play.

    Studio v premium?

Now i am confused. Looking up rooms at the Palms/prices.

Whats the difference between a "studio suite" and "premium" rooms?

    Thanks

    Ouch!

To be honest, I don't spend enough time in my room to justify that. Heck, I'd get a regular room at The Quad for $18 and take the left over $200/day to the casino.

I really like the newly remodelled rooms in the Ivory Tower at Palms and enjoy the Casino, pool and restaurant selections. Lots of recent bedbug reports for Monte Carlo if that helps you make your choice:vomit:

Not sure what kind of gambling you will be doing, but the Palms has for my money the best VP machines in town, and is consistently rated the best by locals. Plus if you need some down time, they have Brendan Theaters there, and also The Earl of Sandwich just opened up in their Food Court, so that is a plus in my eyes. They are fairly liberal with room comps for low rollers too. I played over July 4th weekend, maybe total of 4 hours Fri/Sat/Sun, not each day but 4 total, $1 VP so for that say 10K coin in, they are already sending me invites for 2 nights comped. Seems good to me.
