Here's the scoop. Got a couple friends (girls) coming into town to party with us while we stay elsewhere. I can get them free rooms at the Quad but wondered how bad it really is? They won't care about any of the amenities there as they will likely hang with us at our resort/pool/etc but wanted the skinny on whether it is a safe place for 2 girls or would you look elsewhere? Keep in mind my cheap ass isn't looking to pay and thus this was the best option. Thanks in advance.

Quad - safe?? Of course it is.... I feel safe anywhere in the mid-strip area. It just isn't fancy...old but I've heard it's clean. Girls coming in town to party with us should appreciate a free room, mid-strip.

See, that's my thought also but if it is as big of a s***hole as everything i've read on here, I might consider elsewhere. But what do i know.

If you plan on having any chance of scoring with these girls, I would not consider having them stay at the quad lol

They would probably have no problem with the Quad until they come to your room and your pool and then they are gonna be thinking why do they have us in this dump!!!!!

Walked through the casino floor in July and it has cleaned up. Weird knowing what it was in the past and how it looks now. Mentally it's casino plastic surgery of mid level.

With that said the girls will be safe. The girls can gripe if they want but their other option is always to pull out their credit card and upgrade/pay for their room.

Just don't eat at the buffet there. And if you do, stay the hell away from the green pecan pie. The 'chef' will tell you it looks that way cuz it's sugar free.

    Riiiiiiiiiiight.

One other suggestion, why don't the boys stay at the quad and the girls stay elsewhere?

actually the quad rooms are hit or miss, if they get a renovated room then it should be okay but if they get one of the old rooms they might not like it. of course they could actually go elsewhere and pay for a room themselves if they don't like free rooms.

I think many of us guys might be more forgiving with the rooms and surroundings (just get us to a pool with brews, lol).

I would say this.....stepping away from the "dirty or not dirty" argument the Quad seems to be the epicenter of the properties that seem to have the issue of people waking up in the morning and finding that someone has been in their room over night while they are sleeping

while there are similar reports of this from many casinos from time to time the quad seemed to have a real rash of these incidents going on for a while and from all types of travelers.....singles, groups, people there for a convention and others

I would say take a door stop or some other type of door blocking/stop device and I would really say that for any place....I would also say make sure the door is firmly closed and at places that have the anti-slam doors when you enter and leave wait and make sure they have caught and latched fully and are secured

again there are reports of this type of thing from many types of properties and sometimes it is related to the type of doors the property has (the soft closing ones) or to a property being new and doors and door latches not being adjusted properly and the like, but the quad seemed to have more of the reports of people just waking up to find someone had been in their room and from more varied types of travelers.....including one where someone had stuff against the door and was awoken to someone saying "sorry" and running off

While I would never consider staying at the quad, all of this sounds preposterous. As spartan as the hotel may be, I am sure the doors have locks.

sounds like a couple robbed of cash

perhaps you could write to the owner of this blog and explain to her what happened to her did not really happen because you don't believe it happened

    http://travelingmamas.com/las-vegas-strip-budget-hotel-imperial-palace-casino-resort/

My biggest concern about the room was the lack of a top door latch. It just didn’t seem a sturdy and safe room door, so at night I would stack things against the door to deter any intruders. In all the years I’ve traveled, I hadn’t had a theft or break in. Well that streak has now been broken thanks to Imperial Palace Las Vegas. The last night of my stay at around 11:30PM someone entered my room. Fortunately all the stuff piled against the door fell on them and they yelled “I’m sorry!” and then ran off. I called the front desk, but was told it was probably housekeeping so I didn’t need to speak to security. Really? At almost midnight? Needless to say, I didn’t sleep the rest of the night.

so we have one person from India, a family consisting of a husband and wife and a baby staying there until their apartment is available, one family group, a brother and sister, another brother sister and brother in law, some guys that were all there for fun, but said to not be wild drinkers, a single male traveler, a husband and wife, husband wife and sister, another couple and a single female traveler with a travel blog that have all reported that things were either stolen from their room at Imperial Palace (now the Quad) or that they put stuff in front of the door because they are a cautious (surely overly cautious to you) single female traveler and someone tried to get into their room at 11:30 at night and the front desk told them it was housekeeping

that is a pretty varied set of travelers there for all of those incidents and most of them seemed to happen in the 2011-2012 time period with some earlier from 2007-2009...a couple of them left contact information as well or have a blog that you can probably respond to to let them know their claims are totally without merit and preposterous and as for the door locks the person with the blog states there is no inside room latch on there door at the Quad and I believe some of the other incidents mention that as well

it would be easy to try and ignore it or say some of them are made up, but one of them is from someone with a blog and a couple of others are from people with what seem to be legitimate online IDs for the particular sites where they reported the incident and so when you add it all up I would say it does not sound preposterous at all since there have been reports of similar things happening at other Vegas hotels and other hotels around the world and since some of the incidents are coming from people that would have gone to a lot of time and effort to create an online ID filled with other reviews of others places just to trash the Quad

Actually this should increase your scoring chances as they might be better to stay the night in your room.

I stayed at the quad earlier in the year and they did have security restraints on the door.

One thing to consider is extremely long check in lines unless you can use diamond check in. Every time I go to Hash House A go go amazes me how long the check in lines are. Worst I have seen anywhere except when MGM had the computer melt down and it took up to 3 hours for people to get checked in.

If you are getting the room free you are evidently a TR member. Make sure you use the TR line. They added that this summer & unless they have had to move things for construction it still should be there. There is also separate check-in for Platinum members (as well as Diamond/7Star).

You may want to check & see if you can get them a better room, even for a small amount at Harrahs or Flamingo or Ballys.

Regarding the doors - I have stayed at nice Marriotts & Embassy Suites where the blasted doors would shut properly. I purchased one of those small travel alarm door stoms (available on Amazon) to put under the door every night. Always take the batteries out when I throw it in luggage though lol - don't want that going off during flight! If for any reason their door does NOT have a safety bar, request another room for them and make sure they know to always engage this (regardless of where they are traveling).
