In my quest to do all things tourist in Vegas...I plan to walk the strip while sipping on a silly oversized drink next week. Extra points for a really stupid container (football, lights, etc), and it should be near the Cosmopolitan.

What's the best one? Currently leaning toward the Eiffel Tower.

I went with the Eiffel Tower, since it was plastic. If you want to go crazy, get the 100 oz ceramic balloon at Paris, with the strap to carry it on your chest.

Daughter got a pina colada in a plastic guitar with a shoulder strap. Loved it - so many people noticed it and commented. It held way too much - couldn't drink it all before it got warm though....

One of my favorite containers, which I got a few years back, and I believe they still carry is the ceramic balloon from Paris. Although, difficult to carry around.

I'm personally a fan of the nice handled "travel" mugs- not as much fun as the giant bones and guitar, but the "best bet", pardon the pun, in my opinion for a long term walking the strip drinking day. Plus, most places I have seen offer discount refills, no matter where the mug was purchased.

Of all the purveyors of frozen cocktails on the strip, I have to say my favorite is Evening Call (Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Ballys)

You have to go Fat Tuesday, get the huge one with the back strap. There is reason the Fat Tuesday's have the bigger lines than the knockoffs. The quality is just so much better.

It won’t receive extra points for flair or reality-TV guitars/footballs/skull containers but Fresh Grill and Bar in the Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood has pretty good gigantor drinks that can be had fairly inexpensively by using a Groupon:

I think they have some of the better florescent vomit inducing concoctions.

Every time I read about these big drinks, it brings back memories of when we took our son for his 21at bday. He is not a big drinker and usually only drinks Bloody Mary's. we tried many times to get him to drink something different but kept coming back to those damn bloodys. Yuk, lol. We were walking by the Carnival Court one afternoon and he saw someone with those yard size drinks and had to have one. So, he and I went up to the bar and I ordered a Piña Colada and he ordered a Bloody of course. It still makes me cringe to remember how much tomato juice/bloody mix they pured in his cup. And it took them awhile too to make the darn thing. The bartender hands the two drinks over and says "that will be $100". OMG. Thank goodness I had just won almost $900 at Harrahs, so I was feeling lucky and simply paid it. But it was miserable for me watching him try and drink it. It took two (me and my mom) of us to drink 75% of my drink but he was determined to finish his. it was just gross. He must have peed red for a week. The best part was at the end of the night when he threw his arms around me and told me "this was the best day of my whoooooole life". Hahaha. I can't imagine getting one even bigger than the yard drinks, like those plastic guitars. I cringe thinking about it.

Groupon gave me an extra $10 a purchase through Aug 2 so this was a very good deal. Will use it for my trip at the end of the month.

The margaritaville pitcher mug is pretty cool too. I got my wife one a year or so ago. She actually finished it while playing pai gow there. After finishing the drink, the half dozen players at her table all ordered margaritas and then poured them into her mug. "You ain't finished yet!"

At times I wished that I hadn't quit drinking 13 years ago. I'd really like to lug around a 5 foot tall Daiquiri glass just once. Maybe I can get one filled with soda.

The Mexican place next to the m and m store has an incredible large drink. The look isn't anything great but it will get you drunk. You get twice as much alcohol as most of the ones located inside the casinos and it's about half the price. You can also add like 3 more shots for 3 more dollars. That's the only large drink my friend and I will drink.

My favorite is the gigantic margarita glass at Diablo Cantina at MC. Good quality drink, not just a big glass.

While certainly not the biggest, the one that draws the most comments on the strip is the Kahunaville toilet. It holds the equivalent of 4 drinks (you can ask for anything they make).

I don't drink, but many times over the years I've bought one of those huge drinks for people thinking I'd get them sloshed.

Every time they seemed to not get drunk and eventually tire if drinking the damn thinking. I even had them add the extra shot at Cabo Wabo last time.

Ya there is no booze in those at all and I find them to be the biggest waste of money. I've had 2 (one from coyote ugly and I forgot the other palce) and even added extra shots of 151 and didn't even catch a buzz from them.

Towards the end of it your're so tired of carrying the damn thing around and drinking it that you just throw it away and get yourself an ice cold beer.
