    Hey guys,

First time posting because I wanted to ask you guys this question.

I just finished my trip from Cosmopolitan over the weekend (Aug 2 - Aug 4th) and enjoyed my nice free 2 nights from Cosmo (was mailed an offer back in June 2013).

    Thanks cosmo for that.

Now today, Wednesday, August 7th, three days after I check out, I get another letter from Cosmopolitan.

This time it invites me to stay 2 nights specifically on September 22-23 and to join them in an exclusive cocktail party to receive my seven day cruise to any unique destination on Norwegian Cruise Line.

What!?! This sounds too good to be true. Does anyone have any experience with this?

To give you a little bit of a background:

I usually play blackjack $25 hands. I dont bet too big. Sometimes I play at the $10 table because my girlfriend doesnt like to bet too big.

Occasionally I throw in a $100 bet if im down to chase my losses. But I do that at the $10 tables so I thought they probably thought my average bet was small.

Anyone take a cruise before from Cosmopolitan?

Sounds like you've just received your first time share presentation offer. :poke:

Used to get a half dozen or so of those a year. Read the fine print very carefully and decide from there if you wanna do it!

Oh, and welcome to the boards!!!!!

Welcome to the board! I would agree this is probably a time share sales presentation.

How long do you play? $25 a hand will get you rated and if you play long enough you can earn a lot of comps.

I do not believe this is a scan or time share at all.

They want you at COSMO to gamble.

NCL wants you on their ship to gamble.

You will still pay taxes and port fees and daily service charge. Do a search here on cruise and you will see this is very common.

    No scam. 99% sure.

Don't know about Cosmo but I am going on a cruise from CET and all I have to pay are taxes and port fees. Looking forward to seeing Alaska as I have never been before.

I got the Cosmo offer and there is nothing about timeshares.
Of all the cruise lines, NCL takes their casino serious and solicits players.
The puzzling thing is a $25 avg would seem to be below the level they would offer a cruise.

Alaska is great. You will also have to pay the $12 per person per day service fee. For more about cruising, visit cruisecritic.com

Yes, NCL and CET have a longstanding partnership. I wonder if they are doing a side deal with Cosmo in an effort to try to get some younger customers to fill a few "booze cruise" ships? Seems as though a lot of the CET free cruisers on VMB choose Alaska, which is also where we are headed later this month. Does the Cosmo promo include a full slate of destinations too?

It is an offer that has nothing to do with CET as I have never gambled a dime at a Harrah's property, and only played at Cosmo once when they first opened couple years ago when Shifter and I played craps together for about an hour. I think they are mass mailing to anyone in their data base. If I got that offer, everyone should be getting it who has put in some play at Cosmo.

Cosmo just doesn't have a lot of regular players so they do a lot of "fishing" like this. I wonder if the cruise lines actually pay the casinos to offer these "free cruises" to their players.

This is totally legit. I got a similar offer from CET. I'm a low roller also and have received multiple offers for cruises. I'm currently book for one from NOLA to Western Caribbean. I ended up still paying the taxes and port fee for me and my gf totaling 600. I did alot of research before receiving the offer and with out the offer i would have paid 1200 for the both of us. It definitely is a big discount.

I am going to settle this matter for all of you. I did receive both this year and last year the NCL cruise offer from Cosmo. I was there during the promo period last year and received the voucher good for a 7 night cruise anywhere NCL sails.

NCL's casino marketing division, "casino's at sea" sets up a little table by the Que bar and you go and pick up your voucher envelope. There is staff from NCL on hand and they will answer any questions. You can be out of this Que bar, which is in the main casino, voucher in hand, in under 60 seconds. No questions asked, No BS.

Before you ask, I did not use the voucher this year as I simply did not have time. I did call to book at one point and it was quite simple. Do note, the sail destinations and cabin class do differ based on your play. Last year I was assigned a inside cabin and this year a balcony room.
You also have to book within 60 days or something or they pull the offer.

What is baffling to me is how you got this offer with your play. For reference, I play $350/avg, mostly roulette up to 6 hours a day and I have stayed at Cosmo over two dozen times. I have many friends with very solid play who never get this offer.

I think you got lucky my friend, nothing but a fluke.

I already booked, see you at the NCL booth!

My husband got the same offer. Decent VP play. I figured it would be an inside cabin so they're looking for $$ through an upgrade. Does the offer include a second person or would you be paying for that too?

Don't have time to go during the promotion.

    yeah.

I am gonna go check it out and pick up a voucher.

Cosmo has been good for me. Its just strange that someone like me has gotten an offer like this. Maybe like some of you said that I got lucky.

To be honest, Im more excited about the "Enjoy two nights on us in a residential-styled living space high above the las vegas strip."

Not sure if residential means a terrace studio or something better. hahaha.

I'll keep you guys updated. For those that dont play at Cosmo, you should try it out. So far they have been great to me!

Hello, I'm new! My home casino has been TI for the last 2 years, but I have been getting some great offers including this one from Cosmo when I have only played a few times there! Quite surprised. Thanks for members who's been to this even to share the info with us. What time does the party end on 22nd? I checking to see if I can get out on the evening flight on the same date!
