This was written for a trip report, but it didn't seem to quite fit there, so am posting it here instead:

Sage is one of our favorite Vegas restaurants, which is why we wanted to be sure to try the new Five50 by the same chef, Shawn McClain. It was a great choice for a getaway meal for three people (two females) last Monday evening at the end of a recent Vegas trip. I’m not a big-time pizza lover, and thus not the right person to say yay or nay on the quality of the pizza here. I thought our margarita pizza was good, though. We liked the decor and setting, which is between the Aria poker area and the sports book. We also tried a few of the small plates as appetizers and especially enjoyed those. The heirloom tomatoes with Burrata cheese in an olive oil and basil puree was excellent. The bill was $70 with drinks, tax and tip, and we were able to pay with mLife Express Comps. Overall, I’d give the restaurant at least 4.5 stars out of 5.

I would be interested to find out how it compares to Secret Pizza at The Cosmopolitan.

I had the Gotham and the North Beach pizza. 16 inches in diameter but as thin as paper. The Gotham was the better tasting of the two. Secret Pizza is far better in comparison.

I grabbed a slice to go when I was at Aria a couple of weeks ago.

Obviously pricey at $5.50, but it was fine. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it.

you can buy a hamburger at mcdonalds for $1 so does that mean you never eat hamburgers that cost more than $1 unless they have lobster on them?

You must starve and only drink tap water when you are in Vegas. Otherwise let us all know where all the non overpriced things are in Vegas. :)

My point being is that I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a slice anywhere( for something that was "nothing special"). It would have to be something VERYSPECIAL for me to even consider it. So the McDonalds comparison fall short. Mcdonalds IMHO is "nothing special". But by all means get ripped off thats your choice. But I do like the sarcastic responses.

When I was in LV I would go to the mid level houses/and buffies and so NO I didn't starve and drink water. You can call me a value player. Aint going to the CC buffy but aint gonna blow a mortgage payment either on dinner. I also would try to avoid the strip/chains and give the local places a pop. However to be fair I wasn't one to do pizza at all in LV.
