Trying to book a trip for November and was looking at the MGM Signature. I know that the casino, restaurants, etc are in the MGM Grand but my question is how do you get to MGM Grand from the Signature? Is it a short walk? I just had knee surgery and I think I'll be able to handle short distances by then but nothing too do distant.

Also, are the rooms there nicer than the ones in the Grand. I'm looking at the one bedroom balcony suite at the Signature. Lastly, is the airport check in simple and convenient to use or does it create any problems when you arrive at the hotel.

    Thanks in advance!

Signature is a great hotel. Rooms are big and quite nice. You get to the grand by a couple moving walkways w/a little walking in between. Then, you have a little bit of a walk to the casino floor. It's not that far, but it takes long enough that (for me at least) it takes away from the Vegas vibe. Very nice hotel though.

Actually the walk is fairly long in my opinion.
It is broken by a couple moving walkways but it is still significant.
I have a bad knee and it was one of the considerations in me not staying there.
Then after getting into the MGM you are right by the exit to the pool which is probably over a 1/4 mile from the casino.

There's a few websites and apps out there that have the floor plans for just about all the casino/hotel properties in Vegas. I had a knee injury before my trip last year. I had already booked at Bally's and I just left that booking alone.

Only you can decide how you're doing and how much walking you want to do. But, if it was me, I would minimize the amount of walking required as much as possible. If it turns out your knee is better and you can walk more, bonus. If you're feeling the pain, you don't have to walk as much.

I did physio twice a week before my trip and I couldn't have enjoyed my trip without it. I hurt my knee in July. I struggled for about a month on my own before getting medical attention. Mid August I started physio. My trip was for the 3rd week of Sept. I don't know if it's appropriate for you or not but maybe consider it. I had never had physio before.

I have stayed at the MGM Signature several times. I am huge fan based on a couple factors. I like the size of the regular rooms(550st ft). The one bedrooms I believe are 950sq ft. I love how large the bathroom is as well. Big showers!

Ive always had peace and quiet with no problems as well.

However, if you have hard time walking, and I hate saying this, I may vote against booking there. It also depends how many times you are going to walk back and forth to your room each day. Although there is moving walkways, there is somewhat of a walk through all the restaurant/shops and then the casino, and then you can stay on the casino/street level or go up an escalator which leads you to the bridge connected to NYNY.

Although I am only in my 20s, I was making 5 roundtrips a day which was getting exhausting.

I also read this on another board which I never thought of... "you cannot directly access the Strip from the Signature, but you can access Harmon Ave from Tower 3, which is about 2 blocks removed from the Strip (and close to the entrance to the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood across the street). This is the best way to go if you are heading north on the Strip. If you are headed to NYNY, Monte Carlo, or points south, you'll want to walk through MGM"

Not sure how you plan on booking but the last 2 trips I booked through a private owner via VRBO.com with huge success, same check-in process, open communication, and saving myself $300 one trip and $500 the next compared to MGM rates.

Yeah avoid the Sig if you don't like walking ( or have trouble ) . You have to remember you will do the trip from your room and back at least twice every day you are there . It soon mounts up .
