Right now we are booked in @ excalibur for 3 nights and i am going to watch for a better deal to get the contemporary rooms. For 3 nights as of now it is 110 all in + resort fees

People have been saying the Monte Carlo is a way better hotel but their price is double the excalibur.

We are not going till april and i have myvegas points. Would you use it for a room @ excalibur and then only pay $70 + resort fees or move to the monte Carlo and pay $130 + resort fees for 2 nights and use myvegas for the 3rd. Is it worth double the price for a standard room??

    Having stayed in both hotels..

I would normally say don't pay double...but in actual dollars it is only $50.

For $50 more I would stay at MC--the rooms & casino are a bit better as is the location.

it is almost double a night. 65 vs 33 plus the extra 8 in resort fees which makes it double in the end.

what about the contemporary rooms in excalibur/ i can do comp and then pay the upgrade, does that make it ba better deal then?

Just trying to get the most bang for my buck

Well if you aren't going till April, don't count on MyVegas, things could change a lot between now and then.

Monte Carlo is a little nicer and a better location, but it isn't great either, contemporary rooms at Excalibur aren't terrible.. I'd be wary of the other ones.

Overall keep checking, rates fluctuate a lot and there won't really be promotions that go out all the way till April just yet.

It never hurts to have a room booked, you can always cancel. That being said, I'd hate for your first Vegas trip to be walking up and down the strip with all the other hotels looking like the Fort Garry, and you go to bed each night in the Maryland.

Last year they had a lot of interesting sales on Black Friday. Stick that date in your calendar, and sign up for offers on all the hotel's websites. It may be a lot of spam, but something may catch your fancy, and there are a lot of offers for room and show, or room and meal credit, and similar things.
