Going to stay downtown in November. I've been told the GN has the nicest rooms downtown. Any advice on which tower I should stay in? Thanks in advance......:peace::beer:

If you want the nicest of the nice with no objection to cost, get a Gold Club room in the Rush Tower.

If you want a pretty good blend of 'a little more expensive for a really nice room with excellent location' go for the Gold Tower.

In June, my wife and I stayed in a Rush Jr Corner Suite which was very nice. I would stay there again!

avoid the carson tower. it's a long walk/stumble/crawl back to those elevators and some of the rooms are another block or so from the elevators.

+1...and if you dont mind having just a small window looking out to the pool, request an east end suite at check in. It's a nice upgrade in size. We have been given one the last two weekends without any additional charge (normally +$50 or more)

Pretty much any tower besides the Carson. However, if you're on a budget a Carson Tower room can get as low as $39 a night - and hey who doesn't need exercise? Enjoy the GN it's where I stay every time in LV and I love it.

Is it really a long way to the carson tower? On the map it seems like it's just a step from the casino.

No dude. :evillaugh:evillaugh What DAYS in November will you be there? I'll be there at the Nugget from Nov. 7th-12th. Maybe we can meet up for a drink or 10....And yes the pool is heated. They also have a hot tub out there I think.

Just returned from my third stay in the Rush Tower. Well furnished, great maid service, quiet. IMHO, one of the better bathroom set ups anywhere in a standard room.

That's true. I've stayed in the Carson Tower and the Gold Tower. I prefer the Gold Tower, only because when you come out of the elevator, the casino is right there. I've heard good things about the new Rush Tower. You'll enjoy your stay at the GN no matter what tower your room will be.

A long walk ?????? Maybe 5/6 minutes, we are not talking about walking through the desert, nothing wrong with the Carson Tower, good value for money.

5-6 min walk trough a Hotel? How comes? Did not know that the GN is that big.. On the map it looks like the CT is just next to the casino floor..

From Fremont St, you walk all the way through the casino, around the pool, and back to the end of the building to get to the elevators. Here is a map, and the elevators are back by Bridger St, which is 2 blocks from Fremont.

    Carson Tower

This is an example of relativity. The farthest Carson Tower rooms don't seem very far from the FSE compared to how far most any strip hotel room is from the strip. We've stayed at the MGM and the Flamingo where it seemed like our room was in another zip code compared to the lobby. Even a smaller place like Bally's can seem that way if you're in the north tower.

Last time we stayed at the GN we were as far from the elevators as possible, at the very end of the two long halls next to the emergency stairway. Didn't bother us a bit. The view to the south was nice (the strip) and being at the very end made it quieter. But then again, neither of us has mobility issues and we both enjoy walking.
