We will have a rental car this trip but last December ended up a ways out on Flamingo (East) before we found a liquor store and they had a fairly poor rum selection. While we enjoyed the Chirstmas music on the radio that trip, I would prefer to drive to a better liquor store with some selection ... nothing too fancy but I like Cruzan black cherry or Tattoo rums if I can find it. Any guidance out there? Staying downtown first half of the trip so anything between the airport and there would be fine.

Yeah, that's where I go now too. If you've got a rental car you take a left on LV Blvd and head south a ways and you'll see it on the left hand (east) side of the road... from the you can easily jump on the freeway (I-15) and head north right on up the downtown (Nugget).

Usually hit up Orleans gift shop, but last trip their prices were not nearly as competitive as they were even last year. I am still debating between Lee's and Liquor Outlet near the rental car pick up for July. Decisions, decisions.

I am giving serious thought to stopping by the airport liquor store at McCarran, just to buy a can of beer.

If you have a car, Lee's is the way to go. I have gone to the south Las Vegas Blvd location on several occasions for a great selection of beer, wine and liquor. They have several locations on the Strip.

Otherwise, bigger grocery stores like Von's or Albertson's have full liquor departments.

Glad I asked ... In Kansas they cannot sell liquor in gorcery stores so I just assumed that was the same in Vegas. I may just hit a big grocery store and get my rum there as well. May try Lee's on the South Strip this time though to see what the seelcetion is.

I remember running to Sturgis on the bike last year and buying our liquor in Rapid City, South Dakota at the local farm store. Actually a nice little shop right inside the door and you could pick up your cattle feed while you were there as well :)!

Souvenir shops outside casinos sell booze for dirt cheap. You've seen them advertising "99 cent gifts"

Hit up a Vonns. My last time there I had a delivery meet me at my hotel. I got some food and snacks and alcohol. They delivered my alcohol and ect at decent prices. A 20 back of Bud cost me 15 dollars...a bottle of cheap champagne Korbel cost me 11 dollars...In my hotel it would have cost me 50 dollars. I got the delivery free for being a new customer.

If you belong to Sam's Club or Costco, their prices seem pretty good to me but we don't drink much so I don't know. Also don't know if they'd have specifically what you want and there are no stores real close to the strip but it's another option if you're willing to drive.

Any Walgreens or CVS will have liquor, soda, cups and snacks, everything someone needs to get plastered. If you take paradise/swenson up from the airport there is a CVS on Harmon and Paradise. If you want something like Walmart, there is one at the east end of the runway. From rental center when we arrive we'll take Gilespie north to e. Sunset to first left and you come to Walmart.

The CVS on the Strip isn't too bad. If you've got a car and the inclination, isn't there a new Bev Mo about 15 miles from the Strip? That would get you some serious bang for your buck.

I did this last trip. It was a huge winner, and will probably always be my first stop when I get to town from now on.

They sell hard liquor but mostly just the basic whisky, rum, etc... The Walgreen's by Planet Hollywood Hotel has a not bad selection of booze. The only thing is you are paying Strip prices. I bought a 26oz bottle of spiced rum there for around 22 dollars I believe. The liquor stores off strip will get you a 60oz bottle for 24 dollars. If you're looking for something special or are making a purchase to take back home I would suggest hitting up some of the other places suggested.

Doesn't Vonn's deliver to hotels on the strip? Would that be cheaper than a taxi?
