The Silver Sevens has an ad running in a local LV magazine and it mentions their fantastic buffet. It's nice to know they have such a good buffet.

According to the various PR machines in operation at every casino in town, all buffets are fantastic. They must be speaking in a relative sense.

Has anyone been there lately to see if the buffet has actually been overhauled?

I was there recently it is pretty much the same, about year ago they moved their salad bar. The service on the line in fact has gone downhill the last year.

    Buffet

I just came back last week from Silver Sevens... The hallways are very outdated but the rooms were re done and are very nice and modern. New beds flat screen TV's and nice bathrooms. You pay 9.99 for internet for 24 hrs but it was very fast. Nice pool area and the staff was very very nice!!!!
Casino area small but never a wait to play games. The buffet is kinda small and reminded me of Lampoons vegas vacation a little... some of the food looked out of a can and not presented very well. The carving items were very good though.. ie the roast beef and pork loin were excellent. I would not go for the food except for the price of 9.$ for dinner. Vegas hads so much great food as I will stay there again but seek food elsewhere

Did the casino seem smokey and what size TV and were they plasma or not as plasma TV's don't do well if there is natural light. Thanks

That's our deal with Terribles/Silver Sevens; We stay there for the $$ aspect, then game and eat elsewhere throughout the day. The food, drinks and gaming are all fine by me for late, late night/early, early morning though.

Boy! I don't know what you people eat, but I think their food is just fine, especially breakfast. Their cafe is also very good.

I thought this discussion was about the buffy but apparently not. True the cafe is good it's a shame other casinos don't have the prices, service and quality of food in their cafe(s). Now back to the buffet you state it's fine the last time I was there no Kashi cereal and no bananas. If, you feel this is a fine buffet spend a few dollars more and go to the Gold Coast. Then tell me the difference or read Trip Advisior.

Huh? I've found most of what I've read on Trip Advisor to be biased or untrue when it comes to many places I stay so why would I trust them in this instance? Especially against the opinion of others on this board in this thread saying the buffet is just fine for the money?

I was talking about the buffet. I have never gone hungry when I've eaten there. I like watermelon, but, I am not going to knock the whole buffet if they don't have it. BTW, I don't pay for meals in Vegas.

I'm guessing I don't play enough to get comped a lot in Vegas lol. Having said that, we usually get by as cheap as possible with the exception of doing one big fancy meal at somewhere like GR Steak.

Is the price of the buffet at silver 7 as much as $9?

Except for Friday, the Gold Coast is $10 every night and as mentioned the food is much better.

Most nights Station casinos are in that price range as well. Again the selections are better.

Then again, I suppose few people pay full price. They have so many coupons floating around. It used to be that they would take the 2 for 1 coupons at 50% for solo eaters. I wonder if that is still true. If so, they still have these for printing up at Vegas 24/7 magazine vegas values
    http://centralmediaserver.com/247M/vv-coupons.pdf

Start at the bottom of these coupons and click up a few for the Silver Sevens.

I remember eating at Terrible's 24 hour diner one night years ago and they had a whole fried chicken and fries for 5 bucks. I wonder if SS kept it on their menu. That was a great deal.

Actually, their breakfast buffet has always been ok. Pretty standard. Sausage, bacon, eggs, and what not are all satisfactory. When I have a 2-for-1 coupon for that place I almost always use it for breakfast. With the 2-for-1 coupon it's only $2/person, which is a terrific breakfast for the price.

The food for lunch & dinner buffets isn't really that bad, but it's a notoriously limited selection. There's nothing gourmet about it; just a basic meat & potatoes buffet. It's anything but a dining experience. It's just a place to fill-up.

I agree that the cafe is pretty good. Portions are enormous and quality is good.
