It's shit like this that puts people off Vegas -

vpFREE reports that the full pay JOB & BP $5+ games at CET casinos are now labelled as requiring $25 coin-in for 1 TC, rather than the $10 required previously.

This means that the relatively easy-to-earn Diamond status through 2 days of $25,000 coin-in VP (with the daily bonuses) is no longer available at the best machines. It would now require 2 days at $62,500 (ouch!) on those machines.

Of course, this will also hit the players who regularly build up lots of TCs through high denomination play on the best games. For comps through a host I'm not sure if they will treat coin-in just as before or will look less favourably at $5+ JOB/BP play.

I don't have a big problem with casinos requiring more coin-in for credits at the 100%+ games but when they start requiring more on games like 8/5 BP (99.17% return) I feel I am being screwed. :grrr:

That's really dicked up. Any word if this is just a Vegas thing or a corporate-wide CET thing? I'll be in AC in the next couple of weeks and check it out there.

I wonder if they're just singling out $5+ full-pay VP or all full-pay VP. I don't think they have any full pay at less than $5 in Vegas but they do in AC. It would be really weird to just single out $5+ players but still give the normal rate to full pay $1 players.

This really sucks. Doesn't that mean we'd also only earn RCs at the reduced rate too?

I would assume this. Pretty ridiculous to do when 9/6 JoB is your best game. I would get it if you did it on 8/5 Super Aces or 40/10/6 DDB (available at Horseshoe Hammond).

As for other CET locations, not sure yet, but I will try to look ASAP (hopefully next month)

Also does anyone know if there are signs clearly stating the reduced points?

Curious as to what the exact wording says on these machines?

I have never seen any machines that indicated the coin in per TC.

Yeah because until ~two weeks ago, they only existed at Caesars Windsor ($80/tier cr. for 99.95% Pickem...makes sense) and Bally's AC ($20/tier cr. for multi-play 9/6 JoB...another wtf)

Apparently there is a sign on the relevant machines, stating coin-in required to earn 1 credit.

As someone mentioned, there is almost no full pay VP below $5 at CET. Rio has single and multi-line 8/5 BP. According to vpFREE the single line machines are not affected but the multi-line require $50 coin-in for each TC. W...T...F???

It almost seems like CET are trying to stop VP players accruing TCs quickly, unless they are prepared to give up some EV. Perhaps too many people hitting the free wings in the Diamond lounges.:rolleyes2:

I'm not sure whether RCs are earned at the same rate as TCs on these machines.

Maybe so. With the "new system" making 7 Stars is theoretically easier than ever before for a high denomination VP player. In Hammond, where 99.96% DW44 exists for multi-line dollars, it could cost you as little as ~$600 on average even after one is not allowed to write-off state taxes from Royals (or multiple 4 Deuce hits).

Do you think the full pay machines at Horsheshoe Hammond will also go to $25 per point?

Here's an idea... stop playing at CET properties.

You can walk next door to an MLife casino, find a better HA for the player, stay in nicer rooms, and earn more points on tier credits on VP.

If you want to stay on the Strip and want to have the flexibility of connected properties and play fairly high denominations, I agree with this. CET may be a bit more generous with room offers, but you'll have to play 9/5 JoB, 7/5 Bonus, or worse to see full status points. And of course their hotels are generally crappier. Bleh. And some MGM casinos have decent games at the dollar level if you don't play max lines the "multi-hand" games where lines can be adjusted while still making max bet per line. For example, playing 1-line of 8/5 Bonus with STP (99.44%) at Luxor, or 1-line of 50-play 9/6 DDB w/Quick Quads at MGM (99.65%).

But anyone really wanting to grind very good VP games though should generally avoid the Strip, unfortunately.

Meh...no idea. Hopefully not, but if they do, it won't effect me much. I'm too poor to be Diamond/Seven Star.

Really? You don't have the $600 to be 7-Stars? You get way more than $600 in benefits.

Do you really believe that? If you could pay $600 for 7* it would definitely be worth it. But in reality you could easily lose 6-figures getting to 7* even using the shortcut methods.

Even in terms of theo, the $600 figure may be accurate for one game in Horseshoe Hammond that is almost 100% payback, but for the most part the best a CET player could hope for in terms of theo needed for 7* is around $2500 and that's assuming optimal strategy on full-pay games and the most efficient usage of tier bonuses. And again, you could easily lose 6-figures getting there.

I'm glad I didn't waste time doing my 20 days of $25k coin-in this year. This is only Vegas right now, but will no doubt spread.

I don't understand. If you would have "wasted your time" you would be 7 stars until 3/31/2015 and you would have been one step ahead of the rule change.

    Sounds like you blew it.

Yes, I am starting to regret not pushing this a bit harder earlier this year. I just started "topping off" my BJ play by playing just enough vp to get to 2500 tier credits/day. Looks like this "shortcut" to 7 stars is not appreciated by CET (no surprise) and the loophole is closing. Maybe it can still be done outside LV but probably not for long.

My guess is they just have too many people who got to 150000 TCs this year without losing very much, which is not what they were after when they introduced the daily bonuses.

Precisely!!! I thought it was a mistake on their part when they first rolled this out. They soon realized how many $5 + VP players were earning 2,500 TC/day along with the 5,000 bonus, they realized that the number of 7 stars will grow dramatically.

IMO, the 7 star status has already lost a lot of its luster and benefits, so I must be one of the few who is not so "upset" with the new change.

Anytime you have a lot more members in any "exclusive" club, the benefits will surely drecrease, I have seen over the years.

i havent heard of this but if its true they will probably loose a lot of high limit video poker players and other casinos will lure them over

Not really, this was a CET specific loophole

Yeah who would have ever thought that a bunch of gamblers would take advantage of a way to game the system. :rolleyes2:
