Is it possible to charge things on folio ahead of trip on multiple hotel stays? For example if I begin my trip at an MGM hotel but will be moving to say Caesars and I want to watch a show at Caesars while playing at MGM, will I be able to charge the Caesars show ahead of my Caesars stay?

They authorize your credit card for room charges. How would they be able to do that if you haven't checked in yet and they don't yet have your card?

Goosey, if you wanted to do it for purposes of having it comped at the end than you can just pay with RCs yourself since that is what CET will take first anyway.

Also here's a tip. If its a show like Celine that charges ticketmaster/AXS fees you can just buy the tickets at the box office with RCs and avoid all the bullshit fees you would pay if you purchased online. Saves over $40. If you want to do that ahead of time your host can arrange it for you.

Yes, this can be done. However, you'll need to utilize a host to set it up, you can't just call them and charge it to your folio ahead of your stay. I do it all the time when they don't want to comp up-front but yet I know my play will be more than plenty.

So it can be done? I'm assuming that the other way around works as well? Book MGM show while staying at Caesar before staying at an MGM property?

Yes, I've done that through a host as well.

You have to have a hotel account open to charge something to it. Pretty simple stuff. If you do not have a room number, what would you give them?

There are some ways for a host to do something.

BUT, here is a reason to NOT do it. That activity might cause a "visit" in the players club system and reduce your theo.

This is false thinking. The host can set up the tickets as a room charge, but you won't be able to pick them up until you check in anyhow, yet, at least the tickets are already reserved. Reserving the tickets in advance WILL NOT generate an activity. Regardless, don't worry too much about activity. It's not gonna kill your offers unless you play really low anyhow.

In summary, yes, you could arrange for tickets in advance as a room charge with the assistance of your host or a vip coordinator (more so at MGM where you don't necessarily need a host) even though you haven't booked a room yet. However, you can only pick up the tickets if you have a room checked in and they can then charge your room. Based on your play or your relationship with your host, those charges will be taken care of before or when you check out.

they don't charge it to your folio ahead of time. they just reserve it. they don't charge it to your room until you're there and you have to be checked in to do that. you can't have a host setup a show for Tuesday and then charge it to your room Tuesday afternoon when you don't check-in at the hotel until Thursday. even if you had the host reserve it ahead of time, you would have to get the host to put it in as a comp or use your own comps to pick it up.

it seems you're trying to find a way to give yourself maximum flexibility for scheduling of shows during a trip that includes stays at both CET and Mlife properties. to summarize what others have said, it seems to me that you have three options:

    1) book overlapping stays with both CET and MLife properties, even if you're only sleeping at one of them (this presumes that you have more than the previously reserved nights available as comps at both). then you'll have a folio to charge at either location.

    2) directly use your ECs or RCs to pay for the show that you want to attend on a day when you are not booked into a room at one of that group's properties.

    3) determine the shows in advance for whichever nights you want to attend them, and then book your stays at each property to match the schedule, even if that means switching back and forth between properties. conversely, you can just bite the bullet and only schedule the respective shows that match your existing room reservations.

one other note: if you're a Diamond or Seven Stars player with CET, you will have access to some free shows as "loyalty" rewards and those are not tied to a folio. you can get the list of available shows and a voucher for them at the TR desk when you're in Vegas, regardless of where you're staying at the time. if that's an option in your case and you don't want to wait till you're in town to pick the shows, then you can probably find a list of currently available Diamond shows on the internet or within another thread on this board.

I am staying at Caesars from 8/25 to 8/31 and I have already reserved my Celine Dion Tickets for 8/28 through VIP services - I did the same last year. They won't appear on your folio until you pick them up from the box office. When you close out your bill you can use comps or see if they will comp the tickets with a host.

thats normal and common but thats not what the poster is asking,he's asking if he can actually charge the tickets to the room before he checks in not just reserving them which everyone does. the answer is no he cannot make room charges to a room that he has not checked into yet.
