Received a lot of good advice on other topics, so wanted to see if the luck continued with this one - wife and I will be in Vegas next weekend and we're looking to do some bar hopping down the strip after a vow renewal on Sunday evening. We're looking for a fun, perhaps a bit rowdy, atmosphere that does NOT include clubs. Figured we'd start at one end of the strip and work our way back towards our hotel (MB). Toss out your suggestions for a fun, beer-drinking night. We read about Blondie's in PH and Dick's Last Resort at Excalibur, so would really like your thoughts on those 2 places specifically - but we need more ideas/options. 2 stops will not be enough for us. Thanks!!!

Todd's English Pub at Aria/Crystal's has a drinking challenge. If you drink a pint in seven seconds, I believe that is the time, you get the beer for free. You can do this as many times as you wish.

Dicks last resort has become a great place that I like to start off my night. The biggest thing is how far are you wanting to walk, or taxi. New York New York has the big apple bar and coyote ugly. You can literally walk into any casino and find a cool place to have a couple of drinks.

I dont think either of those places would work. I would try something like Diablos, Coyote Wild, MIx at Mandalay Bay.

The places I think of are all on the east side of the Strip. Planet Hollywood, the bar toward the north casino entrance; Paris Cabaret Lounge; the lounge at Bally's, forget the exact name; then Carnaval Court and the Piano Bar at Harrah's.

There used to be the lounge area at Bill's and at O'sheas, and Rockhouse at IP, but those have gone bibi in recent months.

I often to the same- just wander with no particular plan and see what looks fun to stop for a drink.

A few bars/lounges/places I liked and are worth checking out from my last trip:

Senior Frogs at TI (cheesy, stupid, but fun for a drink or 2!)
Rock of Ages Lounge at Ventian/Palazzo
Lavo at Palazzo (seems to turn clubby at night, but the restaurant bar seems more low key and laid back early evening)
    Rhum Bar at the Mirage
    Carnival Court at Harrahs
    Paino Bar at NY NY
    Dialabos at Monte Carlo
Mix at Mandalay Bay (I like to go early evening when they open- no cover, and not vert crowded.)

I have nver been to Blodies, but Dick's is OK... I have stopped there for a drink on ocassion.

Carnival Court at Harrahs is a must. Blondies in the Miracle Mile has an all you can drink deal

Thanks for the suggestions. Totally forgot about Todd's English and Carnaval Court - both looked interesting but doubt I could do the 7-second challenge (maybe back in my college days I could have). We hadn't really considered Mix as it seemed a little more "lavish" than we were looking for that night - but are my preconceptions about that place wrong? Will look into the other suggestions as well. As for walking, we'll be having the limo drop us off somewhere further north on the strip and either walk or cab it to stops heading south till we get back to MB.

    sjross2,
Just wanted to chime in again on Mix-
At night, it does get clubby- however, early evening after it opens, 6 ish or so, its pretty laid back.
As you are staying at MB, it's a great place to start the night.

What about the Irish bar in NYNY? Maybe Ellis Island? The piano bar in NYNY?

Bar hoping is like an opinion, there are tons of them, and you have to chose for yourself. Every casino has at least 3 kick ass bars and 2 nightclubs and a lounge. Like I said, the biggest thing is how far you want to move from home base. No matter what casino you go to, you WILL find a place to have a good time. I am on the strip nearly every night of the week, but there are places I dislike, there are some that are extremely fun, and others that are cheap.
