All Coast casinos will have a resort fee of $9.99 starting August 1. If, you book prior to August you will pay the fee unless you're staying in July.

Only a matter of time before all the DT casinos do the same (GN is just ahead of everyone else).

hopefully that will not happen to all DT casinos, but unlike the strip DT people are looking for bargains so as long as they keep rates low (even with fees) then people will visit.

Don't know where I'll stay next. I used to go to Rio when it was $35 a nite and no resort fee. Last month stayed at the Gold Coast for $25 (included $10 buffet credit)+ $3 resort fee. A jump of $7 in the resort fee might be enough to consider somewhere else. If any of the Casinos dropped their resort fee right now i'm sure they would see their bookings increase considerably.

Sad. I still think that comped rooms have no attached fee.
I don't think eliminating them attracts customers. That is the CET experiment and it went against the consumer.

Palazzo and Venetian now have optional fees. I have not seen that it drove people to book there.

The $9.99 is correct but what Doug got was the tax included which brings it to $11.18.
