    My Trip Report

Hi folks! As the title suggests, there are loads of pictures.
You can also read about my experiences with: Mystere, KGB Burger, Gallagher's, Criss Angel, I <3 Burgers, Cocolini's, The Fountains, The Mirage Volcano, Flamingo FAB, first time walking through The Wynn, Aria, The Venetian's Carnevale and see a couple of spectacular panaramic shots I took of my view...this time with clear windows!

I assume this is a dry aged cut. Before becoming addicted to a dry aged rib eye, I felt the same way about paying so much for steak.

I get the same feeling after eating a big beefy dinner. I've never smoked crack but I'm guessing it's pretty close.

So, what settings did you use to get such nice night pictures? I don't have a high quality digital camera, mind, but just about every evening picture I take in Las Vegas is bollocks.

With night shots you usually have to check if your camera has a special "night" mode, and see if that mode turns on automatically at night or not.

However the key is: a lot of cameras will automatically switch to their night or low light mode, but for a place like Las Vegas you don't want it to go on automatically.

The problem is: when in night mode the lens is left open for an extended period of time (to let more light in and capture the picture) and if you are holding the camera any slight jiggle or movement will cause the picture to blur or if anything is moving in the picture it'll blur.

My digital camera is a Sony and most of those have an "intelisense" mode (designated by the i+ on the dial) where it'll take two photos at once: one where it'll take a picture using the standard camera settings and then another where it'll use what the cameras picks as optimal.

That has helped me over the years where sometimes the best picture is the standard one and sometimes the best picture is the night vision one... before this camera I usually came home with 100+ blurry and/or fuzzy night shots from every trip :) :) :)

But with a standard camera I would recommend taking a picture with the night mode on and then again with the night mode off. If the object you are taking a picture of is more than 15-20 feet away you don't want flash on because that's just not going to work that well and might just make a haze appear in the picture.

    Thanks everyone!

Mjames - I just used my iPhone 4S with the latest IOS version, kept a steady hand, tapped in a focus zone and kept the flash off.

Great report and pics! You gave me a few ideas for "new" things to try on my trip next month. Vegas is so big and ever-changing, there's always something new!

This floor makes me want to play Q*bert

Thought the same thing first time I saw it. Except I stood there for about 2 minutes waiting for "coily" to come out! He never showed. Maybe I wasn't drunk enough!

    Very nice TR. Thanks!
