    My Trip Report

    Hi Everyone,

Work is a little quiet and I finally have the time to do my trip report :licklips:

Went to Vegas at the end of May with one of my buddies who has never been to Vegas. We got the green light from the wives on condition that we bring them back something nice for letting us go and leaving them with the kids.

We flew in separately as finding a cheap flight out of Montreal is pratically impossible. I usually fly out of the US (Plattsburgh) as the savings are quite significant. But this time since I was only paying for my flight as the family was left at home, I decided to fly out of Montreal. My buddy found a flight on another carrier that landed 1 hour before mine so it worked out perfectly.

The flight was a nice one which I really appreciated because I hate flying. I always think to myself through out the flight, how can this F"/?ing heavy piece of metal with all these people and luggages on board be in the air like this. Anyways, nothing helps like a couple of drinks to relieve the stress.

I’m wandering through the airport looking for my buddy and our limo Driver. Low and behold, a nicely dressed gentleman holding my name appears, Yahoooooo…my ride is here, but where the F?”k is my buddy. Damn, need to call him as the texting was not going to well in terms of communication. Call him up, “Yo, Max, where are you?” He was outside in that blistering heat..what a bird! Why did he not stay in the airport is a mystery. We jump in the Limo and head off to Hotel32 (Monte Carlo). It was my 1st time staying there as they had given me a nice offer that I could not refuse. I’ve always split my stays between Mandalay Bay/Bellagio but decided to give this a try.

We were greeted by our Bellman who brought us directly to the 32nd floor of the Monte Carlo hotel. We checked in on the 32nd floor and went to our rooms. I had a Loft Suite and he had a connector. There was no way in hell that I was going to sleep with this 6ft 4 monster so my host comped me a connector for him. The room was very nice, but does not compare to a Tower Room at Mirage. It is however was very nice considering the time that I spent in there.

I was missing 25K tier points to make Platinum for 2014 and that was the main purpose for this trip. I had decided that I would not gamble all day and all night and that I would enjoy the pool/clubs with my Vegas Virgin. I had booked the Foundation Room and Hyde for 2 of the 3 nights that we would stay there. Where else do you want two 40+ year olds to go, lol.

Went to CSV or CVS, can’t ever remember that shit, to purchase some booze for the 3 day escape from reality. I can’t believe Pharmacies sell booze, that is amazing and so cool, our pharmacies in Canada don’t even sell cigarettes anymore. So, we got a bottle of Rum and Vodka and headed off to eat somewhere. We ended up at the Bellagio buffet. Food was okay, I’m not a big fan of Buffets but it did hit the spot.

My buddy decided that he wanted to chill in the room for awhile as he was tired. Yahooooo….time to hit the Casino. Played some Slots, mainly Keno. Yeah yeah I love Keno and especially Caveman Keno. Love putting the sound full blast and annoy everyone around me! Played for about 4 hours, went through my Free Play and about 400$. I had to wake up my buddy and gave him shit, “hey we are in Vegas and we did not come here to sleep”. We took showers and got dressed in our suits. We wanted to look good for the ladies. Headed to the Foundation room at Mandalay Bay. Wow, we then realized the suits was a bad idea. Man was it hot in those things. Finally got to Mandalay and we decided to eat something at Lupo. Wow, the hostess was the most beautiful woman that I’ve ever seen. Holy crap, she was perfect. Wow, getting goosebumps just thinking about her. After eating supper with a boner the entire time, we decided, lets go to the foundation room.

Beautiful views, however, the guy to girl ration was 65-1. So, we had a drink and a smoke and head off. Gamble a little at Mandaly Bay and head off back to Monte Carlo. We went to minus 5 in Monte Carlo, pretty cool place (no pun intended). Had two, three, four drinks with some ridiculous furs on us. Shit, this coat was obligatory. We were sweating bullets. I go swimming in minus 5 weather in Montreal.

Anyhow, my buddy decides to go to bed and I decide to go gamble. Our agreement was that I did not exist after 11 p.m. and it was already 1 in the morning. So I play until 4:30 and hit my Platinum Status. Yahooo….goal accomplished, time to go home, yeah right. Set the Alarm for 7:00 a.m. as I wanted my buddy to see vegas. I told him that we would wake up early and do the whole strip in 3 days and he agreed. No sleeping in!!!! Show him a couple of things and what do you know, it is already noon..Damn. Go have Lunch at Asian restaurant in Monte Carlo, the name skips my mind. Very good place, we actually went there 2x. He wanted to chill and decided to go to the pool. I’ve been to Vegas 8 times and never spent more than 5 minutes at a pool. So, I told him to go and I’d meet him there in a couple of hours.

Gambling time…Yahoo. Go to the Casino and I decided to hit the tables for a change. Play some Let it Ride and meet 2 nice ladies from Toronto at the table. Shoot the shit with them and convince them to come to my room for a little party, lol. NOT TRUE…I’M a happily married man, however, the thought did come to mind several times at the table, lol. Man, no luck for me. One of the ladies kept hitting 3 of kinds, flushes and straights. I finaly hit a straight flush on my 10$ bonus for 400$. Leave the table losing 500$. I was so pissed, I was playing Greens all day until the end when I hit the straight flush. Arghhhhh…….

Go play some slots and hit some nice pots. Got a couple of 5 on 5 in Keno at a 5$ bet. The return on this was about 800$ each time. I also hit a 6 on 7 for 1020$. I was on fire and played some other slots (Davinci Diamonds/Quick Strike/and all sorts of WMS machines. I went to the pool up about 1400$ for the trip. See my buddy and decided to buy drinks for everyone in his row of lawn chairs, or whatever they are called. I actually was having fun at the pool. I stayed there for over 2 hours and spent 432$ on drinks on us and some nice people we made friends with.

Anyways, back to the room up 1000$. I was very happy. I had all my bankroll with a win of 1000$. Take my shower and notice my buddy passed out on the bed. I wake him up and say that it is time for supper and Hyde. He could not get off the bed because of all that drining at the pool, what a wuss, well, time to go gamble again. Yahooo..Head downstairs all pumped up but my luck had stayed at the pool. Damn, played until 5 a.m. losing my 1K plus another 1400$ of my bank roll. WTF….I was hot but that pool water cooled me down. Went to bed, put my alarm to 7. Did the morning ritual with my buddy. Oh….forgot to let you know about the lounge at Hotel32. It was nice, offered coffee, mimosas and some light snacks all day long. We had nothing planned but “O” this night. Got comped tickets. I’ve never seen a cirque show as they do not interest me, but since I got free tickets, I decided why not. My wife usually goes with my son when we are in Vegas together and they both like it. Went to the show, blah, not my cup of tea. However, impressive acrobatics. We went to eat at that Asian place again, man was it good. We were discussing how easy it was to decide where to eat without our wives and kids. It was like, Max we go back there, yeah sure. If the wives and kids were there we would have to see all our options and ask who wants what, look at the menu etc…….Easy with just 2 guys .

Max heads to bed and I’m going back to my HOT STREAK…Right! Got it in the teeth another 1500$, so I’m down for the trip about 3K. It was about 2:30 a.m. and I decided to head to Aria just next door. Never knew that there was a cross walk directly to Aria from Monte Carlo. Saw some new machines and decide to try them out. Hey now!!! Hot again. Hit for 900$ on a machine that I had no idea what I was doing.

    THE STREAK BEGINS!

Cash out go to another machine that I’ve never played. Put a Hundy in it and bang!!! Hit the bonus for another 600$. I now decide, you F”/%er, just play machines that you’ve never played. Put a hundy in a dukes of hazard machine (never played) bang…….500$. I then see a Zeus machine, I hate those fuckers, but decide to play it anyways, 1st spin, I hit 3 lightning thingys giving me some bonus spins. Bang….300$ Then I see the Holy Grail. Sdguy’s Airplane machine. Put 100$, nothing, put another 100$ nothing, put another 100$ Airplane Bonus. Got a nice bonus for over 900$

Head over to the Wizard of Oz machines. 1st Hundred bang 3 bubbles and a hit for 700$. At this point my bonner from that hostess I saw is coming back, yahoo, I’m on fire. Play a little more and decide to leave up 2K from where I started from the Aria Trip. It is now about 5:30 in the morning, tired, but since this is my last day, I decide to give Keno another try. Get 2 rum and cokes and start playing. I get nothing the first 300$ but then……………………..IT HAPPENED……………………………I hit 7 on 7 for a wopping 8000$ Yahooooooooooo. The attendant comes and I ask for a cheque so I don’t get the temptation to keep playing. They remove 30% withholding tax and present me with a cheque of 5600$. I know have to file a US income tax form to get my 2400$ back, but its okay 

Take my cheque and go to bed. End of trip.

This is the 1st time I come back home a winner from a Vegas trip. Yahooooooooooo!
Can't wait for my next one :peace:

No no, my buddy is alright. I think that he was just overwhelmed and happy. He just regrets sleeping so much. I told him that 3 days in Vegas passes very very very quickly. I think the Sun and the drinking got to him. However, he is still a wuss lol...

I remember my 1st time in Vegas. I was there for 3 nights and had not seen Vegas at night. I remember being held up in MGM Grand for 3 straight days and nights. Crazy....

I think that he learned his lesson because he wants to go back for at least 4 nights. I have to go back to see that Hostess again, WOWOWOWOWOWOW

Great job coming home a winner

Three days is just not enough time for a first-time trip. It can be pretty overwhelming.

Thanks everyone. It felt so good to come home a winner. I'm usually happy if I come back with some of my bankroll. Vegas Baby! Can't wait to go back but I'll probably wait until my tier credits reset and go back after October 1st.

If you hear someone playing Caveman Keno loudly, then it is me :Þ Come by to say hi. The beauty of Vegas is meeting so many new people all with different characters. I met some wonderful people from all over the globe.

I was wondering what you brought your wife too and figured sleepy boy Max brought his a few hotel amenities.:Þ lol. Congrats on going home a winner. Years ago I travelled to Vegas with a Vegas Virgin who also seemed to require lots of napping; the upside was the stuff in our room was well-guarded, lol. I'm going to Vegas in Oct with two VV's and think that may wrk perfectly as I won't feel obligated to leave the tables or slots as they'll have each other if they don't want to gamble.

Thanks Bclub. I can't read the article but I'm hoping things change. My last trip, I lost over 5K and had to pay taxes on my only 1200$ winning jackpot. Man I was Pissed. Do they plan on signing a Treaty with Canada to avoid this in future? What can you remember in the article that was important. Do you know if they are continuing to withold the 30%?

    Thanks.
