I play very little at GG and haven't really played there for two years. I dropped off their radar.

Out of nowhere yesterday I get an offer for 3 free nights in Sept and another 3 free nights in Oct, and $30 in food credits. Plus $40 in slot play.

I have double booked them a few times and let my brothers use the room, but I have never really stayed there. I checked out the room, but that's about it.

So, double booking again, just for the slot play and maybe I can entice a brother to join us.

Check that food offer. I have gotten $30 in food credit but it's for $10 in Sept, $10 in Oct, $10 in Nov.

Same with the free play. But it's still nice to have a little bit to play with. When I decided I wanted to spend a few nights downtown, the Golden Gate was where I wanted to try and stay. They'd just done the renovation, it's the original Vegas hotel, I love history, plus they have the shrimp cocktail. Oh, I like the dealers, too. ;) It was very easy for me to get offers from them, about 4-5 hours of $10 blackjack, I was able to break even in the end. And the offers started.

Room wise, they are not bad, though it's hard to get anything with a real view. The rooms are clean, nice tv's, very comfortable bed. But they are small rooms. You can definitely tell they were built back when people were smaller, and rooms were just a place to rest. Sharing with one other is all I'd suggest. The bathrooms are small, too. But if you're staying by yourself, they are good, clean, comfortable rooms to get a good nights sleep.

My only real complaint is it takes a bit of practice to get the shower running at the right temp. Turn on the hot water, then bring in the cold. Go back and forth on the cold a few times, it will go from too cold to too hot. Make smaller adjustments. To get it just right at the end, you need to barely turn the cold water knob.

Oh, and the toilet paper in the casino restroom is much better than the TP in the room.

I get the same mailer too. Great use of the food comp is breakfast at DuPars, typically covers the whole bill.

Yup. Knowing the history of the place, I just laughed walking down the hallway to the room the first time I went. Low ceiling, short doorways. It was a cool feeling. I felt I needed to have spurs on to feel at home. lol

Got my mailer today. Sure enough, $30 food credit, $40 free play, but 1/2 for September, 1/2 for October.

I must be considered a big shot there? 6 free nights (3 Sept, 3 Oct), $30 Meal Comps ($15 Sept/Oct) and $80 in slot play (broken down in $20 each for two week periods.)

I did spend a few hours there last trip [STRIKE]looking at boobies[/STRIKE]... errr playing black-jack at $25 a hand?

There was a time when you had to book the room in order to receive the free slot play but I'm not sure you have to that anymore. Our offers for the Golden Gate say in the fine print that the free play will be loaded onto your card.

Last week we stayed at Four Queens but went to the Golden Gate, the D and Binions to use our free play. We entered our pin number on the VP machine and the free play was pre-loaded onto our cards. No visit to the club booth or hotel stay was required. The free food offer does require a visit to the club booth though for the food voucher. In April, we stayed at the Golden Gate but used $80 free play at 4 Queens just by entering our pin number.

My husband gets offers in the mail so he always knows what's available to him. I don't get the mail offers but still always check my account and am sometimes pleasantly surprised. I had $10 at the D this time that I wouldn't have known about had I not checked. If you don't use the free play for the allotted time period, it's gone forever.

Nothing wrong with double booking though, it's always good to check out the rooms. Hopefully your brother can take advantage of the offer.

Hmm, I'll have to check that out before I register and see if that is correct. I always just assumed...

If that's true, I don't want to tie up a room on a busy weekend. I've seen the rooms at GG before. Small, but nice.

I needed a magnifying glass to read the fine print on my Suncoast offer for Oct and it says you must be a registered hotel guest to use the free slot play.

EDIT: Got the magnifying glass out for GG offer and don't see the same restrictions.

Edit #2. Pulled out a MSS offer and same applies. Must be a registered guest to use free play. I was looking for a Four Queens offer, but can't find one to compare. Must have tossed it.

It's been about 2 years since we've double booked so I'm guessing they changed to the pre-load of the card somewhere around that time.

Boyd offers definitely say you must be a guest even to use the food credits.

Golden Gate and the D offers have fine print that reads "your free slot play will automatically be deposited into your account during the specified dates".

4 Queens and Binions fine print reads "to get the fun started, we have loaded your Royal Players Club card with $xx amount in free slot play".

It's been at least a year since we have had offers from the Plaza but my husband seems to recall that free play was pre-loaded on his card there as well. Maybe someone who's visited recently can confirm this for us.

It's always a fun morning for us when we visit each casino to see what they have for us!

Edit to add: If the timing works, we always try to book trips over a month end so that we're able to pick up the ending offers and the new offers the next day.

I have used the free play at Golden Gate without booking a room, no problem. Same with the meal comp. The Free play will automatically be loaded on your card, but you need to visit the club booth to have the food voucher printed off.

I'm not 100% sure, but betting $25 a hand will put you a little higher on the totem pole for offers there. I get the higher offers for free play as well, one time it was $50 per period. I think what triggered it initially was playing the $50 DD game one afternoon.

I would like to know what offers are triggered by slot play alone(if any). MY DW has never played the tables there before, but does play a ton of slots there. Even more that I do, but doesn't get a mailer , ever. I am still waiting on my mailer, and if she doesn't get one after the coin we dropped in May, I am going to force her to play some $25 bj with me and see what happens.

    Joe,

I got the same exact mailer the other day & was confused. Last trip I played about an hour of video poker at there bar & lost a total of $50. I am going in August & will probably give Golden Gate some play, now that they are starting to give me offers... It's always nice to keep the offers coming so you can keep your options open :)

I never said I was drunk... I was... but I did not say that. And as a side note I have not played V/P or slots there in years... just drunken, boobie staring, table games? You may have a point!

    Dupars

Love to have breakfast at Dupars. Got the same offer, have a trade show to attend in Sept, so I'm in. I don't really play there very much anymore, but love the sights. Hoping Valeria is still a bartender there. If anyone knows, would love a heads up.

I've played there numerous times over the past few years amounting to about 30 hours of $10 blackjack play. And I've never received a single mailer offer from them. Needless to say, I'll still play there to stare at the boobies... err I mean enjoy the 3:2 payout.
