I last went to Vegas in April and, as usual, had a great time. Since then, I realized I had a load of frequent flyer miles and had a slow period at work coming up in early August, so I thought I'd start looking for tickets for my wife and I. Using my comped rooms at The Quad and the frequent flyer miles really worked: we got two round trip tickets and five nights for $96 (includes all taxes, fees, resort fees, etc.)! This will be the first time that my wife and I have been in Vegas together. Should be fun....August 5-10.

    I'm very excited, of course!

I have a trip coming up using SW. The ticket was paid for with vouchers and my stay at the Rio is covered by my Total Rewards account. So far the only out of pocket expense was the taxes, fees and etc.

Do you have the TR credit card by chance?

Nice deal. I just got a tower room at Luxor for 4 nights for $198 (includes tax but NOT resort fees) through MLife and got my airfare taken care of by my Southwest Visa.

Are you into extreme couponing too? Great deal!

Damn, and I thought my sub-$300 trip in April was cheap!

Seriously, I find it funny how cheap my Vegas vacations have become. My first 2 or 3 trips just a few years ago ran $700 for flight + hotel for 4 nights at MGM. Then, I stayed at Flamingo to avoid resort fee and started playing very light Blackjack at the Caesars casinos, and the comp offers just started rolling in. Couple that with figuring out how to play the waiting game with Southwest to get the best deals, and that $700 price tag has been cut in half, and then some in a case or 2.

Agreed. My first couple trips I paid to stay at Flamingo and Bally's, but then I started figuring out how to use the comps and offers to my advantage. And while the resort fees cut into that a bit, and SW has been more "miss" than "hit", I've still done a pretty good job. I use reward credits I earned from the Great Race to cover the rooms, and I have a Southwest Visa that gets me some good point balances. This is going to be my third trip this year, and all I have paid cash for is a single one way flight home.

Takes a bit of discipline, but once you figure out the game, it's still pretty darn cheap, even for a TR gold player like me.

That's a great deal Matti! I was in Vegas yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised with the new look of the casino. Yes, they are still in remodel mode but the partial casino looks fantastic! I hope you and the wife have a blast.

    Cheap Trip

Nice going! My wife and I are booked for SW and 3 nights @ Flamingo for $550. Liked that price, as we have no compos this trip.

Thanks for the update! I'm curious to see if anything has changed since April.

AZ no extreme couponing but may look into it. My SW flight to LAS is sold out and am wondering what I might want to do. Decisions, decisions.
