We had thought the resort fees were included when redeeming a comp room bonus.

When we called to redeem a Mirage midweek comp room bonus, we were told we had to pay the $25 resort fee plus the taxes.:grrr: I thought we had read on this forum that those were included. Has this changed?

Just what I guessed. Resort fees are such a cancer that has spread insidiously almost everywhere in Vegas. They allow properties to soak us in so many ways regardless of the hotel rate, even if comped! :grrr:

They made people start paying resort fees on MyVegas rooms about 2 months ago. It is not new.

I booked a weekday bonus night at Aria tonight and was told that room, resort fee and tax WERE included. I am curious to see if they charge it or not once we are there.

I "typically" stay at TR props. If you are at the base gold level and are comped, you are charged the resort fee. However if you are Platinum status or higher, the resort fee is waived.

Resort fee is waived for Platinum+ even if the room isn't comped as well

Come on now, what kind of attitude is that? The resort fee does include FREE LOCAL PHONE CALLS. (that is written in sarcastic font) Since 91 percent of US adults (Pew) own cell phones, it still amazes me they have the gall to list this incredible benefit!

Your Mlife status has nothing to do with the waiving of the resort fee for MyVegas hotel room reward nights.

We were speaking of Total Rewards Properties. Just to make people aware.

I just booked 4 rooms and at the end of the call the rep recapped the price. She said the rooms AND room taxes are covered by MyVegas and we are expected to pay the resort fee plus tax upon check-in.

Did she make a mistake? I was under the impression that we would have to cover the room tax as well as the resort fee and fee tax. I didn't question her but maybe I should have to make sure. Can anyone who just visited confirm either/or? Was the final cost just the resort fee +tax or was the room taxes added to that as well?

Maybe it depends on which hotel you are staying at. I was told when I made my reservation at Mandalay Bay that the tax and resort fee was waived. I guess I'll see on 8/24 when we check in.

I looked it up in the T&C the other night (and of course I can't find the paper I made notes on), but I think it was MC or NYNY and nicer appeared to include taxes & resort fees, while the lower properties did not include them.
