My friend wants to stay at Paris our next trip. I heard that the pool was shaded most of the day? Anyone been and know this, I would like sun...even in the July heat :)

We've stayed at Paris many times and go to the pool several days each trip. In the morning, much of the area has shade but by noon, most is sun. Seems many like the choice....I always get a lounger in a sunny area but see some folks choose the shade. By early afternoon, no choice - all sun.

It's sunny most of the day. Also, for those of you who haven't experienced their pool, it is absolutely the coldest pool I've ever been in, even on 105 degree days.

One thing to also look into is the cabanas or villas. The wife and I have done both there. The villas are little bldgs. w/ air conditioning w/ a private fenced in area to lay out. Last year, the cabanas came w/ bottle service included in the price ($275 or so).

Around 11 am the sun comes over the top of the hotel. Some followed the sun, and some followed the shade. Great View of the strip from the pool area

TylerH50 is right -- the water is always SO cold in that pool! It was 116 three days last year when we were there, and although we were totally hot, it was hard to get in the water.

I love the pool area, though, and the mojitos are to die for! There's always sun and shade that you can find; you just may need to move your chair or find a different one from time to time.

I stayed at Paris for 5 nights last July and absolutely loved the pool. Although I am only 29, I do not prefer the party type pools. I think something relaxing and quiet. I also didnt think the pool was that cold. 80 maybe. Great drink service and really simple access made it very accommodating.

An additional note on the Paris Pool. They WILL let you rent a cabana there if you are staying at another hotel, even another CET property. Plus, their cabana rates are all less than $200 on weekdays and $250 on weekends.

I had that info confirmed to me late last week.

I agree with the consensus on the sun in this thread.

Plenty of sun and shaded areas at all times...and as others have stated the pool is always quite cold!

thanks for all the replies. I wonder if the pool will be too " calm " for my friend, she likes pool parties haha, but she wanted to stay there and it sounds nice. And it's Vegas :)

I may be wrong but I believe staying at Paris also gives you admittance into the Flamingo pool which is mostly crazy party on weekends.

Wet Republic on Friday is crazy. If you go to spyonvegas.com and RSVP for the Hot 100 free entry before 1 or 2 PM I believe.
