I only saw some video on YouTube. It really doesn't appear to as good as I hoped but you can bet I will still play it if I come across it my next trip.

I played it at the Southpoint last week, several times. Not many big pays unless you hit the bonus, and they don't come very often. Hit five wonkas on max bet ($4) and was suprised it was as low as it was (way under $100). Decided it was a money sucker, Family guy at Aria paid a lot better.

I saw Family Guy at M Resort a couple of weeks ago.
The chair was filled every time we walked by.
Might have to give it a try now.

Sorry about the 5 Wonkas fail. That sucks.

There's a couple now at PHo right by the Earl of Sandwich. Lost my $40 quick, but it's pretty fun. Only issue with those machines is left one doesn't seem to have sound, while motion wasn't working on the right one.

Havent played in Vegas yet but I did play these at both the Golden Nugget and Borgotta in Atlantic City last week.

Family guy sucked, and I'm a big fan. The line hits sucked and the bonus games were always week. Sure I was only betting $1.00 (2 X Min) but I expected much more play. These was the same for the entire group of friends I was playing them off and on with all week.

Wonka is awesome! But not a money maker. At least not for us. I was going back and forth $.80 and $2.00 a spin and hit the bonus game every time I played it, about 6 times. Mostly got just the giant Willy or Charlie free spins. I hit what looked to be a money maker nearly full screen a couple times and I made back maybe 20X my bet so not very good at all. The oompa loompa random bonus is fun, but again I dont see anyone getting rich playing these. They would have been better without the stupid progressive sucking in all the potential payback.

Interesting note, the demo's they have been showing online have a Golden Ticket meter. It shows what percent of the 5,000 random bars are left without the GT. But in Atlantic City all you do is open bars at the end of the bonus and the meter isnt there. I'd play more if it showed 75% of the bars were opened and the $5K jackpot was still out there. But no meter = no way of knowing. Is it like this in Vegas as well?

Played it at Ballys and its a money sucker. Put $100 in and was playing the minimum and never saw a bonus once. I lost almost all of my money before I cashed out and left. Machine seemed like fun, but it doesn't like to pay out, or at least not for me.

I never saw the meter in Vegas. Playing max bet, I think I won $3 on one of the golden ticket rounds. Good point on the progressive hold, the brain cells that keep me away from progressives had been killed the day before.

Sorry to hear about family guy, I did pretty well when Peter showed up on the screen and played his butt trumpet.

Just pure speculation, but it could have been a last minute change in game design. The problem with the meters is that it will give less incentive to playing early on.

I played it at Bally's, too. It was no fun. Just STP (Straight Through Processing). :grrr: I probably won't be playing it again.

I also played at Ballys. No motion on the chairs but I did hit a few bonuses that were pretty much worthless. I love the movie and the game was fun, but it sure sucked up my money fast.

IWonks is at Red Rock too

We were there on 7/8 and played. My impression is low pay and not too often at that.

Basically just a money suck as it really isn't enjoyable to get back 20 cents on an 80 cent bet one time and the next win is 4 cents!!!

Funny how for some, it's a money pit and for others they do really well. My husband played last weekend and he hated it because there were hardly any hits. Although he did make $25 on the Oompa bonus betting 40cents...which I think is decent.

I grew up watching the movie so I will play it just to hear him say "You did it! I knew you would, I just knew you would!"

    I love Gene Wilder :)

It seems very few people are saying they cant lose on this if you read all the posts.

My local casino here near Chicago just got these in. No progressive! These were, by far, the most active and honest Wonka games I have seen. I played them in Vegas, Indian Casinos, Atlantic City etc. All of which are tied to a huge progressive. But at my local without it, me and the 3 people around me playing seemed to get the oompa bonus every 15-25 spins. And the bonus every 20-30 spins. And not just for the shitty free spins or pick em bonuses. Most of the time it went right into the chocolate river bonus. I saw people camped out on these things for hours. There was a line to play them. What a difference in payback when you dump that progressive. Not many people play at $4.00 anyway.

100% correct. My wife had the same results at the Cal.

Few big wins and a total money sucker.
