Hi everyone, I used myvegas for the first time 3 month ago and I had enough points to cover a few comps.
On last week we redeem two with a friend here's my review :

    Caviar @ Petrossian Bellagio.
The place is conveniently located in the Lobby, we went there around 7PM, perfect time for a nice appetizer !
We took a seat inside, the piano was playing classic hits like "my heart will go on" from Celine, not my favorite type of music, but it fit the place very well. I was a bit disappointed by the place, clean and nice but all fake, nothing's real not even the furniture: lights, tables. Everything is nice, but come on you can do better than an brand new "old lamp" in this place.
3rd friend took a nice cocktail, clearly a good call, nicely done and fresh. They bring a plate of appetizers, also very nice with a cool twist like almond with spices.
I took the Vodka/Caviar combo and my 2nd friend took the glass of Veuve Cliquot Champagne. Note that 3 glasses of Vodka is WAayyyyy too much for one person, it lead to unexpected loss of $$ later at the poker table [/sidenote].
The Caviar is perfectly served in cream, with eggs, onions and blinis. They also bring us white toast, I tried, not as good as blinis. The three caviars and vodkas were tastefull and different, very interesting ! However, Caviar does not worth the $105, and I'll just stick to cheaper food : other fish eggs, crabs, shrimps and Gambas.

    Place : 4/10 looks fake...
Ambiance : 7/10 good moment there even with the music.
Taste : 9/10 close to perfect
    Service : 10/10 no comments !

The second reward was the picnic by the pool at our hotel, Monte Carlo.
We were so busy we didn't found a moment to use it until one day when the lunch wasn't planned and we decided to use it quickly then move to a poker tournament.
I'll be clear : the reward must be used in the pool. You have to request the picnic to a waitress, not at the bar, you cannot have your bottle closed, all 6 are open, and you cannot leave with the bucket, it's complicated to move with 6 open bottle of beer !
Choice is Nachos or Burger, after two days of sickness due to nachos @Twins peak and Margarita ville, we took the burger. The burger is nice and fesh, classic but huge in size. I offered beers around at the beach volley (only place with a bit of shadow) and we leaved with 4 beers.
Recommendation : take your time, take 1/2 day off to enjoy the pool.

Place : 8/10 the pool place is nice, maybe to small during summer.
Ambiance : 9/10 good music, water, ladies...
Taste : 7/10 burger is O.K., beer is too cold in the ice (European taste, beer should NOT be frozen !!!)
Service : 10/10 quick, friendly waitress, well organized service.

All in all, I recommend the two !

I almost redeemed a MyVegas reward for the caviar on my last trip, but got convinced to get a different reward we ended up not using. I did check out the venue and I agree with your assessment. ;)

Thanks for sharing! You know I love your food porn.

I want to both thank you and strangle you!

Thank you for posting about these two rewards. I've been considering both of them and its was GREAT to not only get a solid opinion of them but also a picture that makes it clear exactly that you are getting.

Now I want to strangle you because I'm already daydreaming about vegas badly enough but seeing that picture with you sitting in the sand with a burger in your lap and two buckes of beer on ice is KILLING me as I sit here goofing off at work!

I think I would have the same "complaint" about those pics to. But good God I just looked again and something about those two buckets of white aluminum bottles on ice just looks so freaking good! And I don't even drink Bud usually.

You inspired me. I just bought that reward. Thanks!

Quick question. Can you use the picnic if you are not staying at the hotel? I am staying at NYNY for three days. It does not say in the MY Vegas rewards. Would you have to pay a cover to get in?

    thanks.

Yes, the Picnic at the Pool reward includes 2 free admissions to the pool. So you don't have to stay there and if you are at NYNY, that is very convenient to run over to MC. :)

Yes, the MC pool is a very nice place to start the day. If you are going to LV in the next weeks the walk from NYNY will make you sweat so much you'll jump in the water with your clothes on.

If I were staying at NYNY I would defenitly buy this rewards just for access to the Monte Carlo pool. The one at NYNY is pretty rinky dink but the Monte Carlo one is like a mini Mandalay and being right next door to each other its a slam dunk!
