Hotels on Strip with two room suites?

Going to be in LV in mid November and a buddy is going to join me for one day. Looking for a reasonably priced two room Suite on the strip, or a resort that has two adjoining rooms with a door between them to allow access. This will be on a Saturday, so I know it will be more expensive than week days but any/all input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

MGM Signature which sits behind MGM but is connected with an indoor walkway. Its a descent walk to the strip but rooms are really nice and big. I booked my last trip with a private owner on VRBO.com and saved hundreds compared to what MGM was offering.

 

There is a LARGE price difference between adjoining rooms and a two room suite.

You can get two rooms at Quad, or two rooms at Wynn. Price can swing by hundreds to a thousand dollars a night.

Is an adjoining room a requirement, or a nice idea? If you scroll down the page, you will find some similar discussions.

 

Adjoining rooms would be better but I'm not sure how many strip properties do this. I definitely need two rooms, and I'm not opposed to a suite but I don't want to go uber big on the cost. Thx.

 

Everything @ vdara from the "vdara suite" on up has the main bedroom and living room separated by a door. All of the rooms there (I think) have a sofa bed for extra guests to sleep on.

Check their website to confirm.

 

FYI, hotels don't guarantee special requests such as adjoining rooms so try to book a two-bedroom suite if you can.

Are you

A)going to be there for multiple nights, but your buddy for only one night?

or

B) Are you both there for one night.

If A is the answer, you sure do not want to pay for the extra room for multiple nights while it is empty. And, nobody can promise that the specific room will be available for just that one night, next to yours.

 

A. I will be there Saturday through Thursday, my buddy is only going to be there Saturday. After calling several places they will only let me get a 2 room suite if I book one for Saturday and Sunday. Prices are in the thousands for Saturday and Sunday is a little better....... Ugh.

 

Unless there is some amazing reason, I would give up on the 2 BR or the adjoining room deal.

Book what you want,and just get him a room. If you did spend the extra money to get suite for two nights, then you have to change rooms. That is way more hassle than having him walk down the hall, or even take the elevator to get to your room.

Something else we are missing here?

 

Try a Vdara Executive Corner or Panoramic Suite. Both are 800 + square feet and have a pullout queen sofa couch to go along with the separate king bed in the bedroom. I think those rooms are some of the very best bargains for what you get (the size/space and the full kitchen).

The Flamingo Mini Suites also have the King bed with a pullout couch.


That said, The Mirage 2 BR Tower Suites are very reasonably priced (imo) for the size of the thing. The Penthouses there aren't worth it.

My favorite 2 BR that I've stayed in was/is easily the Trump. I know they charge an additional hundie or so a night for Strip View/Penthouses, but it is far and away the best Strip view you're going to find in Las Vegas and the rooms are really great.

You have to walk a bit when you stay there, but it's Las Vegas...you're going to walk.

I think two adjoining room is pretty easy. I have never reserved that myself, but most, of not all, of the hotels on the Strip where I have stayed in a standard room had the connecting door to an adjoining room. If you're looking to do it on the cheap, start by calling Quad or Ballys, get a quote, and start working your way up

 

The Marriott Grand Chateau has a variation on the 2 bedroom suite idea. It's a timeshare location, but they do rent out rooms like a normal hotel as well (it never sold all the rooms/weeks.) So, you can get a standard Villa (which is a 1 bedroom full suite) + a "lockoff" room that connects to it, which is very similar to a regular hotel room. There's quite a bit of a difference in the "features" of the bedroom of the suite and the lockoff room, but if it's just a buddy staying a night, I'm sure that's fine. It's not cheap, but you're probably looking at $300-$400 / night for the suite and a couple to a few hundred for the lockoff. And I'm not sure how they'd deal with the partial week of the lockoff. But, it's worth a call. Oh, and they're just about 1/2 a block off the strip, behind the Harley Davidson Cafe between Planet Hollywood and MGM (close to the MGM Signature towers.) The main down-side for some is that it's not a casino hotel, no gambling on site, also no restraunt or even cafe on site, but you're just across the street from a major entrance in to Planet Hollywood, so that easily becomes a "home" casino.

Also check other timeshare locations. Most are further off the strip, but it's worth a look and many will rent out rooms and/or suites as regular rentals.

That is a good idea however I would look for the same place on eBay. Many many people sell their timeshares for wayyyyy cheaper then if you would book thru the hotel itself.

I would also look from renting from a private owner on VRBO. Some place like the Polo Towers....

Is there a main factor why your friend just cant get his own room that isnt adjoining in the same hotel? So you dont have to fork over hundreds extra for a large room or go thru the hassle of worrying about joining rooms?

 

Yes, there is that. I thought about mentioning that as I was writing the post earlier, but apparently thinking is not the same as doing, who knew?

Do watch out for scams, though, of course, as well as ambiguity of costs (you may be responsible for some kind of cost at check-in or check-out.) Or you might get roped in to going to the presentation. Generally, you probably want to avoid both.

They also pop up on Craigslist a lot, but even less recourse and/or accountability for scams.

 

Make sure you request-specify "connecting rooms" not just adjoining. All connecting rooms adjoin. Not all adjoining rooms connect.

 

It is easy if there are two rooms next to each other that are connecting. If the hotel is near full, it might be difficult. But - not impossible.

Still have not heard if it really is important that the buddy be right next door.

 

Haven't seen buddy in 30 years. Just thought it would be cool to have a suite where we could chill for a while.

 

You could get a regular/smaller suite for you, and buddy gets a regular room. Then chill there.

Then again, it is VEGAS BABY! At last count, 3,894 different bars/lounges/restaurants/night clubs/dives/pubs to chill in. LOL!
