Has anyone been to this casino in Tampa?

I recently booked a trip to Clearwater Beach, FL, and I'm sure we are going to want to visit the Hard Rock casino. I visited them about 10 years ago, but have not returned.

Do they have table games now? Good BJ, craps? anyone know the mid-week table minimums?

    thanks in advance :)

I've been a total of 3 times when visiting family in Clearwater. Its a large casino (imho) for what it is, and I know my family member played cards there.

If you are in the mood to gamble its ok but I don't think any NA casinos are great at slot payouts.

NIce pool area with outdoor bar.

Went there 2011 and it was likely the nicest of the Indian casinos I had visited on my trip. What annoyed me most was that I did not get any offer or anything after having some decent action there, but primarily loosing a lot.

The place has changed quite a bit. They are not afraid to throw the profits back into the Resort. Lot's of improvements over the years.
They are the 6th largest Casino in the World! Sure it's not Vegas but it is the only game in town and a fun place to go spend a few hours.

We live in SW Florida and frequent the Seminole Casino in Immokalee. Be aware that the slot club is going through some changes as any points earned before April and if not used before June 30th will be forfeited. I'm hearing other rumors as to the handling of points earned after April 1 but can't substantiate. The snow birds are going to take a beating.

Live in Tampa and have been there a few times. All cheap tables < 15 are continuous shufflers and 6/5 payout. Higher up you go you get shoes and 3/2 payout. Only card games. Roulette and Craps are the video variety, I can tolarate the video roulette but the video craps is an abomination. Rooms are nice but expensive since there are so few, some nearby hotels have shuttles that run. Drinks aren't free, there are some specials but most are mid to high price. Hope that helps.

    ^^that helps tremendously :nworthy:

I thought I had read somewhere that Florida is "cards only" which made me wonder how the heck they could do craps like that. Rigged video craps sounds like the answer :rolleyes2:

Still looking forward to checking them out. 6th largest casino in the world, should be at least somewhat impressive :)

This is a very accurate description. It can be fun on a Saturday or Friday night, but you have to realize that its not Vegas. Worth seeing, I just have a problem spending money in an establishment that does not report properly.

I received an email saying they were doing something new like if you received 600 points in a day then 3 days
later you will have automatic FreePlay waiting for you. I receive post cards, email offers and FreePlay all the time.

I've been there a few times as it is an easier drive than Mississippi. I found the odds horrible. I know slots are a bad bet, but I have never been to any casino (including the islands) when a few days at the slots don't result in ANY one win over $100. Seriously I felt robbed. I kept thinking I just had a run a horrible luck which is why it took me a few trips to finally cross it off the list. Indian casinos are not regulated. They have such a monopoly in that area that they can afford to skirt the paybacks and not lose business, they are the only game in town. I found the BJ atmosphere rather boring. Maybe because you have to pay a bundle for drinks so very few people buy them. The drinks aren't even all that good.

I've stayed in the hotel and was not impressed. Over the years the food choices have improved greatly. I get tons of offers from them, always for "sister" hotels with free transportation. I'd rather spend the money to go to the Bahamas or Vegas.

That being said - hope you prove me wrong and have a fun, winning time.

This is my home casino, they have blackjack, switch blackjack, war, mini baccarat etc. The casino itself is big with solid food options. They have the big pop a dice version of craps and the automated spin roulette as these are considered "slot" games in FL.

Another option, look into casino cruises. I know the Tradewinds docks oyt of Madeira Beach and will be close. You will find real craps here
