Did anyone try pop up pizza in the Plaza hotel downtown? i was looking on yelp and it gave good ratings and they sell it by the slice so that may be good since we don't eat that much.

Yes. Pop up pizza is quite good. It's northeast (Boston) style thin crust pizza. Like all places that reheat slices, it's always better when it's fresh from the oven the first time.

It looks like it is Pop Up Pizza versus Secret Pizza at Cosmopolitan for the title of best pizza in LV.

Except for the fact that there's a wad of non-casino-based establishments that make great pie in various styles.

Project Pie at MGM Grand is the latest entry into the competition.

It is a create-your-own place. The make it in front of you.

There are a lot of good reviews for the pizza here. I had it in San Diego and thought it was really good. A friend of mine says it one of the better pizzas he has ever eaten.

I like my pizza crust thin and crispy. I never tried the NY style pizza, it looks more like a pan pizza I guess?

Real NY style pizza is thin, its not pan pizza but its not the cracker-thin crispy type either. It's thin and foldable, which is the way most people here eat it. Secret Pizza at Cosmo is NY style.

Its easy to get confused though because I've also seen places not just around the country but around the world advertise "NY style pizza" which looks more like a pan pizza.

We went to Pop Up Pizza @ The Plaza last August. It is an understatement to say we were not impressed.

It is not thin and crispy. Think higher quality Sbarro........

I thought it was a great slice. Pricey, but it had pricey toppings. I plan on hitting it this trip which is in 11 days. Ya, Ha,BTW look at my icon that is a pizza I made for the wonderful servers.

Pizza has caused more "wars" than demon rum and ex-girlfriends.

Being a creature of the Left Coast, I never was brainwashed into a single regional Kool-Aid fixation with pizza correctness, so I am happy with the styles of CT and NY, the various sides of Chicago, St. Louis and Detroit and of course Naples.

The NYT says the best pizza in America is in Phoenix. The Neapolitans will tell you the best pizza in America is in San Francisco. I'll tell you the best pizza in America is in Los Alamos, CA.

That's the beauty of "best" ... we all have one and we're all equally as full of shit.

I'm the same ken. My favorite is the NY style I grew up on but I love all kinds of pizza. Like they say pizza is the same as sex, even when it's bad it's still pretty good.

Buy I will say that so far Secret Pizza is the only slice in Vegas I've had which was memorably good.

    Good Pizza

I ate at Pop Up Pizza twice last week, very good. And very nice people behind the counter. They have a 2 slice any kind and a soda special for about 8 bucks.

Had it our last trip in June.

Pop Up Pizza was about the only thing that went right on our trip. It was right up there with the best pizza I have had.

There are a couple of places I have been that are equally good.

Let's face it. All three main ingredients are pretty much commodities. Flour, tomato sauce, and cheese.

It is not difficult to make a good pie.

I will give Secret Pizza a try during my next trip to LV.
