A players club rep just told me NOIR is now 2,000,000 points, it used to be 1,000,000 points. it's still invite only which means all u gotta do is tell your host once u have reach the require points. If this is true I'm no longer playing with mlife and going for seven stars, already platinum for mlife and noir is just too much (also emerald for b connected and president for station)

Can anyone confirm? sure hope that rep is wrong, they are known for being wrong, anyone that have never been NOIR and currently got over 1m points and ask their host to switch their status to noir and got rejected?

They have "said" it is invite only going forward. As to anyone "knowing" this yet, I doubt very few have been in a position to find out

Everyone that was NOIR under the old rules will have it until October of this year. Anyone new would have to hit the one million (or higher) since October which would take some serious play since then. Yea, there are a few folks, but not many in the big picture. Guessing there are more people that were already NOIR that are expecting it to go away in October.

I would love to see the accountant's report 4-6 month after the big October slashing to see how much lower the spend/loss of the dethroned NOIR members cost MGM. Come late winter, somebody at MGM is gonna get canned - at least that is my opinion.

There isn't much advantage to being NOIR other than airport limos...

You are going to get your comps based on your play regardless of your tier level or the card you have

whether it is 1m or 2m or 5m points really wont make much difference...its just a cool looking card...they changed it from the flat amount of 1m to prevent locals from reaching that level by running a few bucks through a machine after work everyday...

For the priority limo and taxi service just use your platinum card

A few months back a marketing rep told me Noir will be invite only starting this October and that the way it would work is that you submit your name to your host (or hosts) and basically the host has to vouch for you to be Noir. Like I said, it was a few months ago, so not sure if that is the final plan or not

Huh? Noir is too much so you will go for Seven Stars instead?

Just using slot play: It takes $200,000 in coin through to earn the 2,000,000 TCs to be at the Noir level in MLife... but takes $750,000 coin through to earn the 150,000 TCs to get to Total Reward's Seven Stars

Take this how ever you will but a few days ago I was talking to my host and joked about how a mutual friend of ours was gonna try for NOIR next week, he pulled up his account while on the phone with me and said he is only 950,000 TC's away. My friend currently has around 50,000 TC's.

Your number is off. MLife gives 10 TCs per $3 slot play. So it would be 2,000,000 * (3/10) = $600k coin-in.

Seven Stars still requires a little more than that but technically you can get to 150k TCs by just earning 50k TCs + bonuses.

Have you already lost your Noir status?

I "earned" Noir status last year prior to the October changes. On October 1st my status was still Noir. I was downgraded to Platinum in January of this year. At that time, my tier credits we over 2 million. My current tier balance is 6.5 million+. I'm still Platinum. Has anyone here been downgraded and then had their Noir status restored after reaching a certain amount of tier credits?

    Thanks!

I seem to be at a loss to figure MGM. Various casinos are different. Various slots are different. (not counting VP).

Every single Harrahs is 1 point for $5 in. Put in 12,500 in one night and you get the 2,500 +5000 bonus. So, to hit the 150,000 - you will need 20 nights at $12,500 in to get 7 Stars. In reality, your numbers will vary a bit, but that is around 250,000 coin in. Without bonus, it would be $750,000

And that assumes you do all your play in Vegas. Maybe a fair assumption given this forum, but if you play significantly in Mississippi or Detroit, you're boned.

It is invite only officially. It is known.

Here is a screen shot from my Mlife account. See upper right corner.

If you were Noir prior to last October, then you're supposed to be Noir until next October. You can't trust the MLIFE website's display of your current tier status, though. When I check my tier status online, it shows me as Noir even though I've only earned about 650,000 tier credits since October. (It doesn't say "invite only" for me, by the way.)

As for Seven Stars, I ended up reaching it for the first time last December based on my 2012 play at CET properties in Vegas, plus one trip to New Orleans and a couple of visits to Rincon. Gotta say, the tangible benefits in terms of upgraded rooms, offers of free airfare, free cruise vouchers, etc. are better than what I had ever gotten from MGM as a Noir player. And the way they restructured the CET earning approach seems to be paying off for me so far; with all the bonuses, I'm already 2/3 of the way to retaining Seven Stars for another year with no major change in how or how often I gamble.

if that is true and you also take into account that you're earning TCs maybe 1/3 as fast as before, that puts the requirement at closer to 6M on the old system, which I think is a reasonable level. it's much closer to seven stars now in difficulty and that's how it should be. they realized that they made a huge mistake changing it to 1M on the old system; it was just plain ridiculous. if it is 2M i think that's pretty close to the old invite only requirement of 100k theo/actual loss in a year.

You have been screwed, royally if this is true.

If your tier is 6.5 million, you should be super Noir. I know offers are not tied to tier, but with that many credits, you should be at another level anyways.

What sort of offers do you get?

How many Express Comps do you have?

    Re: nostresshere

I assure you it is true.

My Spring Corporate offer was 2-3 nights in a standard room and $50 resort credit. I haven't received a Summer offer.

My current MGM Buzz offer is 3 nights in a Suite, $350 F&B, and $500 FP.

My hosts at MGM and Bellagio both take very good care of me. Upfront Skyloft at MGM and Penthouse at Bellagio, F&B and generous FP.

I currently have $7542 in EC. $5000 of it shows as being available.

Not to sure about if it really is invite only or 1 Million TC's. Look at the arrow on your screen shot and then look at it on mine. I have 130,000 more TC's than you and the arrow is much further along. I'll be in Vegas for 3 days next weekend and I normally get around 200,000 tc's per trip so I will have a better idea of that.

have you talked to your hosts about Noir? you'll get a much clearer answer there than asking around here. i'd say you're right on the cusp of what the invite only qualifications used to be, but not sure what they're using exactly these days.

Yes, I have spoken with my hosts about this. They say they are working on it.

I mainly posted to see if anyone else was going through the same thing. I highly doubt anything will be done about this prior to October 1st. I guess I'll wait and see.
