I can get six nights in November (around the rock and roll marathon), a GO Deluxe room for $226.80 total. Plus resort fees, whatever they are now. Recent trips we've stayed at places from Trop to Bellagio and Cosmo. But we are trying to save a little this time. I am fine with it. My wife needs a little more convincing as she has become accustomed to some of the finer things in Vegas.

Are the GO rooms really nice? Or just nicer than the typical Flamingo room? We always walk through the casino when we go, but have never thought about staying there. I don't think it will likely be pool weather, so I don't think that is a consideration.

My other options are Paris for $300 for the whole stay, Bally's for about $170 for the whole stay or Harrah's for $48 total (again, plus resort fees.) Any thoughts?

    Thanks everyone.

The Go rooms are still in decent shape. No pool in November, one of the main drawing cards, and you'll still have to contend with Gigglesnort Hotel construction, but you'll be OK with a Go room. If you were considering a "Fab" room, I'd have second thoughts. If the expectations are "Tropicana level", you'll be OK in a Go Room.

I'd only consider North Tower rooms for Bally's (their Strip South Tower rooms are very dated) if you are considering alternatives.

It's pretty nice, but it's REALLY hit and miss. Some people love it, others think Flamingo is a total dump... For an extra $40 I'd much rather be at Paris personally, even if just for the amenities.

I'm telling you right now your wife would not be happy there. My Mom is like that, we do a lot of 5 star hotels in Vegas. I know she wouldn't stay there. But she would be fine with Paris.

Can't speak about Bally's or Harrah's but they are a step down from Paris.

And she'd probably kill me if I made her stay in Harrahs.

Hahaha. I'm sure all these places are realistically fine. I don't think it would be unbearable... Unless you can sell her on the "well we will have more money to do XYZ if we get the cheaper room". 6 nights though, I'd imagine you'd spend some time in the room. I'd want something decent.

Mostly for me the 3 you mentioned besides Paris, the properties are boring, and don't have any nice amenities or restaurants really. Mostly why I wouldn't chose to stay there.

Ha. I just booked Paris. We stayed there before, years ago. She'll be happy with it. The only thing I'm not happy about is that resort fees will boost my bill by 1/3. Grumble, grumble.

    Thanks

Get the TR Credit Card. You will be upgraded to platinum status and your resort fee will be waved.

That's a good deal. But honestly, I don't want to open another credit card, and my United Airlines credit card is letting me fly for free. It's not even that I mind them charging for these things. But why not just fold it into your room prices? I get more upset seeing over $100 in fees after I book than I would seing a slightly higher room rate.
