Where to stay this weekend MLife?

I'm headed to the strip this weekend with an offer to stay at any Mlife property.

I'm 35, solo and like great food, not a big clubber/dancer. Would prefer a lounge over a club. Like to see LOVE & Carrot Top.
Not much of a walker.
Play BJ and HL slots.
Mlife Gold
Gamble Budget 5k.

Marketing Offer includes 3-5 nights depending on property.
Standard rooms at Aria & the B.
Bottom level suites at MB, MGM, MIRAGE, NYNY, Luxor & EXCAL.

I had sort of narrowed it down to MGM, MIRAGE & ARIA.

MGM : new rooms, good food options, good gambling, huge
MIRAGE: potential to get a tower or ph, good gamble, smaller, food options not great.
ARIA: fairly new, not sure about gamble, great food options, not sure about upgrade, long walk to get anywhere.


What say the masses??

 

Aria all day. There standard rooms are very nice and going by yourself i don't think u need much more. What do u mean by long long walk anywhere? That would more fall into the MGM Grand category were its a pain to get to other places. Aria got a great location center strip and a close walk to Cosmo, Monte Carlo and Bellagio.
I also think Aria has the best restaurant and casino out of the options you mentioned, that to go with the best room this should be a no brainer.

 

I'd either choose Aria or Bellagio (I realize that didn't make your final cut). Best overall properties - best restaurants, best casinos, best BJ, best location, nicest ambiance and I'd take a standard room at either over the bottom level suite at any other MGM joint.

Gun to my head, I'd probably go with Bellagio between the two. But it's almost a six of one, half dozen the other situation for me.

BTW, that's one helluva marketing offer for a $5K budget. Well done!

 

I would replace MGM with THEhotel at Mandalay Bay in your final list. The positive is the pool and the easy access Carrot Top @ Luxor. The negative is the location.

If you have never stayed at Aria, that might be the way to go this trip.

I would probably go with the Aria.. since it's the nicest property. I really enjoy the casino there as well, it's big and clean, and has the newest games. If you play HL slots I think they would have the best selection for you. I love gambling at Mandalay too! I guess it would depend what matters to you... I think those two have the best casinos. I don't gamble as much as you, but I know if I was planning to sit in the casino that long, I would want a large comfortable casino.

I don't think Aria is a far walk. Probably the best location on the strip.

Several lounge options and some decent BJ options.
Rooms are the nicest and worth a shot at asking for an upgrade to a corner suite.

 

Aria hands down. Great casino and food options. Play poker there every year we go. More centrally located than MGM. I can't say anything about Mirage as I have never stayed there.

 

I really like the low end suites in the MGM. Guess I'm in the minority there. But for the food options alone, MGM is a good choice. I like that they've got the food court for quick eats but also some of the best restaurants in town for high end. I also like the easy walk to NYNY, which is my favorite casino to hang out in when I'm alone. Good bars.

 

Go see Steel Panther at House of Blues, Mandalay Bay, on Saturday night!

 

Of those three, sounds like Mirage is your best bet. You will get a decent room or small suite, free tickets to one of the shows, you want to see, freeplay, and the restaurants are ok. Not fantastic, but better than you think. If good dining is the top consideration, then go with MGM Grand of the three you have listed.

 

I might have agreed with this last year but Seablue and Nobhill are closed.Leaving Crafsteak,Fiamma,and the ultra $$$$ Joel Robuchon.
In my opinion, Aria's selection is better and more diverse.

The food court at MGM is a convenience but the walk from some MGM rooms can be as far as the inside walk to the MC food court at Aria.

 

Seablue was my favorite place in Vegas til it closed. Now its JS at Aria. But I still feel like MGM Grand has more options. Aria is trying to get better, though. I need to try the new buffet

 

I agree with this. Mgm is not really that great for food even though it so big and Mirage is even worse but has some good options close by. Staying at Aria which i think has better options alone within the hotel. You can also reach so many good restaurants within a short walk at places like Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Cosmo and the list goes on. You pretty much have to cover the same ground to reach these properties as you would have to do to just leave the Mgm complex.

 

I would choose Aria without a second thought.

And, I think you are mistaken about getting places from Aria. It's THE most central casino in Vegas and a short walk to Bellagio, Cosmo, and Monte Carlo. Planet Hollywood is also very close. You can't beat that in a location for the proximity to other casinos (good casinos). I hate staying other places because I don't like walking long distances to get to other places.

If you don't think those are short walks, you're obviously going the wrong way.

 

I had one of my best meals last trip at the Mirage's Japonais.

Upgraded to the Penthouse Suite for 5 nights at no extra charge as well.

If it was me, I'd go with the Mirage.

 

I agree with the poster above, and stay at TheHotel, you get some of the best dining choices around, MB covers all genres for dining, but it has one other thing nobody mentioned, MB has 2 sometimes 3 lounges with live entertainment going including HOB, and that is something thats getting harder to find on the strip. As far as close procimity to other places take a cab.

I just got back from a solo trip in May and stayed at TheHotel, I had no issues with getting to where i wanted to be and spent a lot of time mid strip. when i got tired i took a cab back to the hotel and was in my room within 20 min.

TheHotel is awsome, you wouldn't regret it
