Were getting ready to go to Vegas again in October, but were trying to decide where to stay. The 1st 2 night were staying at the Jockey Club timeshare, but the other 2 nights were trying to decide between Circus Circus or the Luxor. Or maybe 1 night at each. For those 2 night my wife and I will be using comps from myVegas, so either way were only paying the resort fees and taxes on the resort fees.

The resort fee is less for Circus Circus and you get more stuff included for the resort fee. The resort fees include the following:

    Circus Circus $9.95
    Free in-room wireless internet access.
One (1) premium ride at The Adventuredome.
Chips and salsa at the Garden Grill Lounge (valid on per visit).
    Two (2) free Midway games.
One (1) free "buy one get one" drink at West Casino or Slots A Fun Bar (or a $5 credit towards other beverage purchase).
Two (2) passes for the fitness room (valid each day of your stay for up to two (2) people).
Free local and 800-number calls (up to 30 minutes).
Resort Passport Book with $150 in coupon savings for retail, food and beverage, gaming and The Adventuredome.

    Luxor $18.00
Unlimited local, toll free and domestic long distance calls
    Daily newspaper
Daily admission to the fitness center (does not include use of spa facilities)
    Free Internet access in room

My wife and I are not big gamblers and are gonna be in Vegas for a geocache event, and we are big FTF (First To Find) hounds so would want a hotel that easy to get in and out of with the least amount of traffic.

Two of my least favorite places in Vegas. I'd say Luxor though, if only for a slightly better location.

[STRIKE]Ditto! It's all about location between those 2 properties. Luxor for sure![/STRIKE]

Didn't see the bottom line before I posted. Circus Circus would have the least amount of traffic and easier to get in and out of. But it's not in the 'safest' part of the strip at night!

Nothing wrong with Circus Circus really but for the difference in price I'd opt for Luxor. CC is not dangerous, nor is downtown, god they have murders in the "good" sections south of there.

Oh please, where the hell do these safety issues come from? It's no better or worse than anywhere else.

Personally Luxor but with all of the freebies thrown in and your stay is for a different purpose, CC is a bargain.

Are more geocaches by one of the hotels? If so, pick that one.

I voted for luxor purely based on location. I personally think luxor has the most depressing casino theme possible.

If you're going to your car and back from the upper 1/3 of Luxor set aside 45 mins.

I stayed in both over the past two years (Luxor - Pyramid Spa Suite, Circus Circus - Updated Room).

You'll want to know the type of room you will get at each casino. The novelty of staying in a pyramid is something I enjoyed, but the rooms are run down (even the spa suite - it was just a bigger room but with a cool jet tub overlooking the Strip / Airport).

Rank of rooms (non suite rooms) based on condition:

    1. Luxor Tower
    2. Circus Circus remodeled
    3. Luxor Pyramid
    4. Circus Circus not remodeled but in a casino tower
    5. Circus Circus Manor Rooms (do not choose these under any circumstance).

Luxor is a better property, has better food offerings. I don't like either casino (MGM ruined it by stripping out the Egyptian them and replacing it with their "modern" theme - see also Mirage, Monte Carlo, NYNY). I did nothing inside Circus Circus besides crash in the room. If you have kids, you can find things for them to do / see, but otherwise Luxor is a better resort to stay.

I personally prefer the location of Circus Circus due to the fact that it is relatively close to Wynn/Encore/TI/Mirage. MGM and Mandalay Bay are the only two casinos I visit south of PHo / Cosmo.

Circus Circus will be easier to get out of to head down the strip (either direction) or to I 15. Use the back streets behind Luxor to get to I15 or continue down Frank Sinatra Drive to avoid strip traffic.

I voted Circus Circus assuming a remodeled room. I'd stay at Luxor if you are offered a CC Manor or Standard unremodeled room.
