    i know your allowed 3 in a 30 day period. But if i booked my hotel room already for my upcoming trip in August is that technically redeemed?? I guess my question is can i still have 3 more when i actually get to Vegas in August

    Rooms are considered redeemed/consumed/used when you check in and will count toward your 30 day limit in August.

    I am ok with the 3/30 rules, but I am curious if they actually track the redemptions tied to you account. Has anyone been turned down?

    It shows in your purchases on MyVegas is you redeemed something or not.

    Ultimately it's 3 per trip. More or less you can't USE more than 3 in 30 days.

    the reason i ask is bc when you book the room you are technically redeeming the reward.. It no longer shows up as a purchased reward in your viva wallet..

    bought chips for 4th reward?

    I have read many times that if you buy the $5 package of chiips, it would change and say 4 rewards per 30 days but I did that and still shows 3 per 30 days. Any advice or information on this would be appreciated.

    They changed this last month about a day after I increased my limit to four by buying a $5 package. Since I hadn't redeemed 4 items I am now back to three again.

    Has anyone been actually turned down for trying to redeem too many items in 30 days

    @Bamfbowhunter

    Booking is not the same as redeeming. Redeeming is when you get the actual reward (in this case a room), while Booking just gets you a confirmation that you have set space for your stay in that room. When you go to check-in to your room, that's when the reward counts towards the 3 in 30 days. When you book the room or show ticket it does move to the redeemed section of your Rewards because you cannot refund those LPs once you've booked a date, but it doesn't count until you get it.

    If you are nervous about it actually counting against other trips, why book the room so early on before other trips that are coming up sooner in the future? Focus on the trip coming up first and then book. Besides the fact, rooms aren't selling, you don't have to worry about them running out of room comps.

    @Mbancaa

    That used to be true but it's not anymore. As of May 21st, they changed the rules in how they calculate the number of rewards someone can have in 30 days - based on how much you purchased and how many rewards you've redeemed in the past. Don't waste anymore money on this game, it's not worth it.

    I can ask them this week when I go, if they can tell someone is over their limit.

    I was curious if anybody has had any issues using more than three rewards in 30 days, after they changed the rules? Over a month ago I bought a chip package, and then bought my fourth reward. Then they changed the rules! It currently shows my redemptions being limited to 3. We'll be in Vegas in two weeks...hoping I won't run into the issue of not being able to redeem that fourth reward.

    If you bought the reward before May 21st, when they changed the rules, then it can follow the old rule of 4 per 30 days. However anything bought on or after May 21st follows the new rules.

    Yea, won't it just not let you redeem a 4th reward in the game?

    Heather, this is actually my original question. Do they actually keep track of total redemption over multiple properties. When I redeemed in January, it seemed like a really manual process with handwritten logs at the Mlife booths.

    Also, I thought I read in a thread here or someplace that a Mlife person told someone they dont keep track of redemptions at this point.

    You can buy as many things as you want (I have 5 right now purchased) provided you have enough LPs to buy all those things. But, you can only redeem the amount of rewards that the Rewards section says (3 in 30, 4 in 30, etc).

    When I went in May, I think they were more computerized at that point. Remember in January, the 3 in 30 rule was not implemented yet and there weren't restrictions on how many you can have hence most were writing it down (I saw it was writing when I went in February).

    I will ask one of them at MLife that question tomorrow, just to see.

    I got back from my trip to Vegas recently and yes they can tell. It is computerized and written down in a booklet. The instant they bring up your name it will say how many rewards you have used up to this point.

    That's what I thought, too, but....

    I emailed MV support over the weekend to confirm that I'd be eligible for the 4 per 30, since I purchased chips on 5/13, which is before the 5/21 changeover. I was told I'm only eligible for the 3 per 30. I thought (as cstutor stated) that I'd be grandfathered, since I bought before the 5/21 change. So I'm confused.

    FWIW...here is the snippet of the conversation:

    Shizue from myVEGAS, Jun 08 14:19 (PDT):
    Hey Dan,

    We recently updated our redemption policy. It used to be that a small chip purchase would get you a 4th reward. However, this has changed. Unfortunately you are still limited to 3/30.

    Thanks for reaching to us!

    Hi....I made a a chip purchase on 5/13/13. How many rewards am I able to redeem in a 30-day period? Does that purchase allow me to redeem 4 in 30? My T/C say I'm allowed 3/30.

    Thx

    I guess all I'm saying (besides "I'm confused") is buyer beware. There seems to be confusion, even on the MyVegas side.

    You had to actually buy the 4th reward before the change. I lost my 4th one also.

    I don't think they said anything confusing. The key words are "If you bought the reward before May 21st" then grandfathered rewards kick in. Chip purchases have nothing to do with grandfather rewards.
