    Hey All,

My wife and I have done the Strip a million times and what there is to do all the way down the Strip to Fremont.

So, my questions to you all. What is there different to do...for just a day...in Vegas.

Example: When you list a place...please state the pros and cons of the listed place. Maybe the cost, location, and uniqueness if possible. Maybe a few hours drive from downtown...which is where we now stay.

We will be going in October...before Halloween.

Example: The sign museum...you know the place where all the old torn down signs of Vegas past are resting. How about the M Resort and casino?
Any slot machine stores to view and buy a slot machine...NOT Gamblers General or Spinetties...a real slot machine store.
Has anyone been to ATM...Acrylic Tank Manufacturing in Vegas...you know the TV show? We don't want to see the owners/actors just the store and products if possible?

Sky Bridge? Some neat things to see up in the mountains...none to very little hiking. How about a map of where Steve Wynn, Binions, and anyone else..involved with Vegas homes to drive past...if possible.

Any cool cemetaries with Vegas legends buried there?

You get the idea....something off the beaten path!!

    Thanks!!
    Cohiba

It's the gated Las Vegas Country Club right behind the LVH. While it's not tough to get to the Club House, etc. I'm not so sure it's easy to just drive around the neighborhood. I had to have the guard buzz who I was going in to see.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I'll give you a few things we've done that I think are worth the time, money and effort. (Of course these are strickly my opinion) We always rent a car in Vegas, so traveling makes it a bit easier.

Not necessarily in any particular order...

    The Neon Museum
    Valley of Fire State Park
    The Atomic Testing Museum
    Hoover Dam
    Red Rock

On our upcoming trip in October, we'll be checking out the Mob Museum downtown and also going back to Red Rock as it's been 15 years since we were there.

You may want to also check out Trip Advisor for additional information on the venues I've listed above.

Hope you have a great and 'Lucky' trip.

Great ideas. I've done the typical stuff like; Hoover Dam, The Neon Museum, Red Rock & M Resort. But visiting houses and a cemetery would be cool. Wonder if there is a list somewhere?

Flat-water kayak Black Canyon below Hoover Dam. A very unique experience, and fun.

The Pinball Hall of Fame was excellent. Everything is the original price of a quarter, everything works and it's a blast from your past. On Tropicana just a couple of blocks east of the strip. Opens at 11am. Bring $20 and play of a couple of hours.

Valley of Fire was mentioned too. No hiking unless you want. You drive through each area and pull over and get out when you want. You'll feel like you went to Mars.

Clark County Shooting Park. On the northern most edge of the valley (30 minute ride) it's beautiful, on a plateau and at the base of Gass Mountain, and rentals are very cheap. Try trap shooting, $10 for the gun, $7.50 for 25 shots AND 25 clays. They will give you personal instruction for no charge and they are very hospitable.

Rent a boat for a couple of hours on Lake Mohave(17' motor boat for $25-40/hr) or just go to the Inn at Cottonwood Cover there for lunch and overlook the lake. (1 hr drive to the south)

    Hope that helps.

I Googley-Mapped it. Looks like the house next door had a massive fire when the picture was taken.

The Lost Vegas Antique store right next to the Pawn Shop and Graceland Wedding Chappel is a cool place to look around in--jam packed with stuff & junk, Vegas and otherwise. You can search Lost Vegas Antiques on the web and they have a small website.

Death Valley is AWESOME! It's about a 2-hour drive, though....and probably merits an overnight stay. The sand dunes near Stovepipe Wells are something to see and climb around on. We took a million photos. Scotty's Castle Tour is interesting, too, and the old ghost town of Rhyolite nearby...

A really nice walk, but not a hike, is to park at Hacienda Casino near Boulder Dam and walk through the gated fence in the parking lot, you will see a trail that goes along the lake and you walk through old tunnels and end up right at the edge of the Hoover Dam. Google "Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail."

Most of the celebrities buried in Las Vegas are buried a Palms Valley, like Redd Foxx, Danny Gans, Tony Curtis, etc. so it might be worth visiting.
Also, i highly recommend a half day trip to Mt. Charleston. Go early in morning and come back late in the day to the Strip.

As a side note, i buried my dad's ashes (in 2007) in the Ocean at the Manhattan Beach pier (he was in the Navy), and also at Red Rock Canyon (he was a great advocate of Native American causes and history). I scattered his ashes on top of the Agave Pit just off the trail without anyone looking (because it's really, really close to the beginning of the trail). That was my tribute, and when i am cremated (hopefully many, many, many, years from now, or until the escalators work at Bally's), i want my ashes buried under the "Welcome To Las Vegas" sign......perhaps my uncle, who plays Golf frequently in Vegas, can do it at 4 am.

My friend lives three doors down from the Casino house. I've just asked her about drive on restrictions and I'll let you know as soon as she comes back to me.

Sorry, I have misunderstood slightly. I thought you wanted to visit the house used in the film and not Rothstein's real house.

The house used in the film is at 3515 Cochise Lane and is in an open neighbourhood. My friend has quite a few photos from filming, I've asked her to email me a copy to share on here.

If you are open minded try the Erotic Heritage Museum:wink2: My best friend and I are going to go this July. When in Sin City you should found out exactly WHY its called that!
