At a recent casino visit, I played with my players card every day, from Sunday to Tuesday. Since we were leaving Weds morning, and I had newly discovered the fun of low-rolling, I did not put my players card in when I played $20.00 and did my small bets. Of course, I ended up around $120.00 bucks, which then led me to think, "Is it better to play with a card or without one?"

If I am max betting $2.00 on Sun and Moon, then yes, I want my card in, because I want the comps. But when I low roll (which I have discovered I have preferred, since I feel much less anxious), I don't put the card in. I still find there are lots of bonuses and you can have good hits, (i.e., $54 bucks, $72 bucks), which keeps you in the game.

    I always use my card.

I look at the player card programs like this: either you get comps or you don't. Either you get high end comps or you don't.

I just don't think any of the programs are so super duper sensitive that they have you sitting on a bubble where an extra $20 either way, either you play or don't play, is going to determine your future comps for the next year...

Or where when you get to the point where you are getting comps that whether or not you play in those 4 hours before heading to the airport for your flight home is going to prevent you from getting the big suite next trip - either they were going to offer you the big suite next time or they weren't and whether you ran another $100 through your card on the day of departure isn't going to cause your rating and play to crash and burn and rob you of some awesome comps.

If the property didn't credit you a gaming day on Wed., I think you did the right thing. If you trigger a gaming day, play with a card at all times, imo, because you will want to keep your Average Daily Theoretical (ADT) as high as possible. If this was the property you stayed at, I generally dunno how they treat your checkout day.

It terms of actual gaming results, having your card in the machine or not is legally supposed to make no difference. Conspiracy theorists often disagree though.

Are you asking if you won more because you didn't have your players card in? The answer to that is no, the card being present or not does not affect the game itself.

If you are asking about how it would affect comps, I don't think $20 would affect anything (unless you were really close to increasing a tier level), and perhaps it would negatively affect your ADT at properties that calculate it that way, because it adds a gaming day that you would have a really low average on.

Having the card in doesn't affect your chances of winning. You can make a case of not having it in if you sometimes play big and other times low roll as it will make your overall average seem higher. But other than that, not using your card only affects your perception of feeling lucky.

On $20 days - I would never, ever put my card in. It just brings your average down and you get pretty much ZIP for comps off that play. Just no advantage to putting the card in.

Your average play drops, and offers will also drop.

No card for me. I play advantage blackjack and I wouldn't get any comps due to my playing style- backcounting, aggressive wonging, hit & run, etc.
