Since everyone appears to be headed to Las Vegas the first week/weekend of July:

-Where are you staying (aside from the 20+ over at Flamingo)?
-Where's your favorite place to gamble?
-What off-the-Strip joint do you like to hit up on your trip(s), if any?

For the past five-six years I take three treks annually out to the little oasis and it's always been from a SAT-TUE. I'm actually doing a late FRI arrival this time and staying at Vdara, which has been my preferred place to stay over the past three years.

I have gone to Vegas for the last fourteen Super Bowls and this past FEB was indeed a sad stay for me as my favorite place to gamble basically shut down on the 5th (Barbary Coast/Bill's). I'm not sure what I'm going to do now because I seemed to always find myself in there for hours on end. I liked the older-dive casinos that were on the strip (O'Shea's, Casino Royale, B-Coast). Maybe I'll have to go back to my old 1990's stomping grounds: Los Gold Coast (the Taj Mahal of gaming establishments).

Double Down Saloon isn't off the strip too far, but it qualifies as a spot I like to hit up a time or two when I'm out there.

Curious where the regular visitors like to go.

We are going June 29-July 4. Staying two nights at Flamingo and 3 at Aria. That's the plan right now anyway. I'm constantly scouring the web for deals so all plans are fluid until about 3 days before we leave.

I also like the dives but need a comfy bed in my "old" age;) We visit Gold Coast for Ping Pang Pong and decent gambling. Also like the Palms casino for some reason. Except on weekends. Poser city! Usually spend several hours downtown. Like what the D has done. Golden Gate too (although I'm still highly pissed about the .99 shrimp cocktail)

Going to see either Absinthe or Carrot Top this trip. Of course I've been saying that for at least the last three and haven't done it yet. Oops!

Hope you have a great trip!

We are going during your time frame, too. We never miss a trip downtown, and Main Street Station is a must for us. We love the Triple 7 Brewery; hubby can hardly wait for the sampler brew tray! The casino there is unlike the others; it is so quiet comparatively. We really like the vibe downtown although we never stay there. It still feels like a treat then when we hop down there.

We always try to hit somewhere new each time. We enjoyed Ellis Island, for example.

    Have fun, all!

We're staying at The D from July 3-5 but ours was an impromptu trip back from a family reunion in Ohio. We found out that staying at the D and flying back through Vegas would only cost us 15$ more lol. Cant pass up a chance for some Vegas fun and the first time we'll stay downtown.

We are staying June30-July4 at Mandalay Bay. Bringing the family, so a differnt kind of trip for us.
We will be at the pool, possibly go out to Wet and Wild.

We love the Bellagio Fountains and conservatory and I'm sure we'll eat at Mon Ami Gabi, it's my favorite.

We still need a show, but will prob use tix 4 tonight for this.

Wynn - July 2nd - 5th (becoming my home base I think) I like both Wynn & Bellagio the best for gaming & dining.

Flying into Phoenix first and then driving to Vegas. Doing my off strip stuff before we arrive. We usually casino hop at least
15+ resorts in search of the elusive Jackpot. Have Terry Fator tix finally on this trip. He's been dark during my other visits.

I'm going July 6-9. Staying at MGM, because I got a crazy deal sent to my Mlife a few months ago. Not my favorite place, but can't beat the deal I got. I don't have a home base.. I like to switch it up, and it depends on who I'm with and what we are going for. This time I'm going to a concert at Mandalay Bay with my Mom :)

My favorite place to gamble is either Aria or Mandalay Bay. Both great casinos. Just comfortable, clean, and lots of variety.

Hmm off-strip. Well, I go to Vegas a lot. So I like to wander around, and I almost always have a car. I really enjoyed Red Rock Casino, Nice place to check out, and definitely take the driving tour of Red Rock Canyon, it's beautiful. Also I like shopping at Town Square, which is down near South Point. Both are nice places to relax have lunch, and maybe catch a movie (I know I'm weird, but sometimes i like to waste away part of the day at the movies before going out at night). Also go check out the Neon Boneyard, that's cool if you enjoy Vegas history.

    June 29th - July 4th

    1. Aria because its clean and usually not smokey.
    2. Aria/MB/MC
    3. I would rather not have a car while in vegas so we usually just walk to places. This trip we have talked about either going to Palms or Gold Coast. The odds are favoring GC.

I am staying at Flamingo for the 5th-8th for the $177,600 Celebrate freedom offer, then we are checking into Ceasars for the rest of our trip. July 5th is my daughter birthday. We are also taking a Vegas Virgin for his birthday also. We go to Las Vegas every year at this time.

We have booked Sunday Jazz Brunch at the Wynn Country Club, Lunch at Milos on the 5th, and brunch at Verandah on the 6th. We have two free shows. We are still planning.
