Hopefully they will improve the VP after a lot of downgrading!

How can you find a name better than Terrible's"? What are they thinking? Who's gonna remember Silver Sevens?

    From LVA:
Terrible's Casino which, through a licensing agreement, had continued to operate under the former Terrible Herbst brand name following a ownership due to Chapter 11 reorganization, is now to get a new identity as the Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino. The current marquee and signage — including the iconic cowboy logo, which is being donated to the Neon Museum — are being removed right now. The new branding is due to be place by late next month, in time for a 7/7 grand unveiling.

Thanks !! Just as I suspected. But ... "Silver Sevens" ... Whatever that is supposed to represent ???

*** Now I'm wondering ... Will this new Silver Sevens still be accepting the current 2013 ACG and LVA coupons ?

I guess because Nevada is the Silver state? Idk but silver doesn't really strike up images of winning or riches in my mind. The only reason I ever went there was to use the breakfast buffet coupon with my Dad but I don't think I've been there in 10 years. Hope they do though I doubt they will. It'll be a bad PR move too.

Yep... saw some of the activity goin' on when I was down there this past week. They also put $7 million into the place, though these days, not sure how much that gets ya. It remains to be seen if they're successful moving the neighborhood undesirables outta the place. Terrible's... err Silver Sevens seems to be their "spot".

Terribles has lost most of their Midwest casinos years ago. They used to have a sign on I-35 in Iowa somewhere that I bet was close to 200 feet tall and at night was so bright you almost needed sunglasses or it would hurt your eyes. I went to KC a couple weeks ago and noticed that was gone and had changed names and the Terribles in St Jo Missouri isn't Terribles anymore. You know times are tough when casinos are hurting that bad.

I've enjoyed stopping there a few times recently for a quick lunch at the buffet. Easy in, easy out, no lines, and ridiculously low-priced. Very tasty jambalaya and pasta dishes and a decent salad bar with drinks for less than the price of fast food? I like it.

They used to have a omelet station at breakfast! Instead of 1 egg choice of poorly prepared scrambled eggs. But I agree it is still a value. My youngest son enjoyed the brunch buffet.

It was a lot worse a few years ago! The pro's would be very aggressive. There was a lot of yelling at the players club. Its much better now in that area. But the vp is Terrible.

Is "Butterbean" still around? The good old days at the Boardwalk for the "Surf" buffet late at night catering to drunks who've lost all they're money. Perhaps he could be used drunk up some business?

It's not a terrible place(pun not intended), it just gets a bad wrap. There can be undesirables there sometimes, especially later in the night. That tends to happen when you have cheaps eats / drinks anywhere in the world though. The food is pretty good at a great value, especially that close to the strip. The rooms are pretty nice too, I'd stay there if MSS didn't give a better value/experience.

Perhaps they should cut their losses and stick to what they are good at...primm and gas stations.
