    From the Plaza's FB post:

"Louie Anderson will be bringing his show to the Plaza, beginning July 10. We are very excited to have him as part of our property."

Not the biggest name in Vegas entertainment. He has obviously been trending downward, having moved from Excalibur to Palace Station. I'm hoping we see more of these moves in the years to come, despite the lack of showrooms downtown. If there's a market, there's a way.

Although I'm excited, I know this is another nail in the coffin for those who loved downtown circa 1995. Sorry folks.

I can be very dense at times according to my wife and I don't get the OP's point. This is good, or this is bad?:confused2:

Really?!? Over the edge? Did he date your wife or something? JK of course

I applaud the move. Although Louie is not a big time act, at least the Plaza is trying to get a buzz about there place. I would hate to see it empty, although I fear it will happen.

I assume this is a sarcastic but informative post? For people that are perceived to not like ANY changes? If not, then I am lost too. As for the remark about "circa 1995", OP is confused, as these are the type of shows that were prevalent downtown then, that people loved.....

This seems to be a good no-brainer move. Fading-headliner-moves-downtown seems to have worked out quite well for Gordie Brown. I'd like to see more of this.

Actually, I'm surprised that Anthony Cools didn't give this a shot. He had full involvement with Plaza when it reopened, and his show on the strip has near-zero buzz. Then again, everything Cools tried in Plaza was a complete and utter failure (Swinger's Club, The Drink, Avante Garde, Exposed Salon, etc).

if they have to resort to pinning their hopes on Louie Anderson then things must be worst then I thought.

I liked him being at palace station. Lessened the risk of actually having to see him.

They dont need Louie at the Plaza, they need Maury!!

Now thats a show i would go see.

ClownHo, you are so wrong "Not the biggest name in Vegas entertainment." True he is not as big as Big Elvis but, c'mon man!

Oh, Eddie, you and that Maury Povich live show idea. Why not try a Kickstarter campaign and you can be the first contributor?

I would go see him. A nice, relaxed evening. No thump-thump, unless if Louie fell down the stairs......:poke:

    It's one change Downtown I wouldn't mind.

I saw Louie Anderson with Marylin McCoo at the Desert Inn in 1989 as a 21-year old. Didn't understand the two-drink minimum, paid a fortune for two ginger ales.

if not 1995 then insert whatever year works for the "i liked downtown better when" analogy.

I saw Louie last week at the Chicago Improv Theater; he was pretty funny. Not tears rolling down your face, trying not to piss yourself funny, but it was a good time.

For as often as he is in Minnesota, (where he is from,) I have never seen him live.
