I just returned from six nights in Las Vegas, two nights each in the three hotels listed above.

It was my first time at Green Valley Ranch. It's been a couple of years since I stayed at the Mirage, and the LVH is my go to hotel when I can't find a fantastic price somewhere better.

I expected more from the Green Valley Ranch. I read a lot of reviews, and expected it to be 4 stars (I consider 5 stars to be Palazzo, Wynn, or Bellagio). It wasn't. I give it a 3. Air conditioner wasn't working when I arrived in the room - it took about 30 minutes and the maintenance guy said "this happens all the time". Great!

Mirage rooms were fine. No problems with it.

But the surprising thing I wanted to say was - these three rooms were basically equal. Equally as nice. Equally clean. None particularly special (although if I WERE to give one of these an extra plus - it would be the LVH for having a mini fridge).

I'm not judging anything else but the rooms. I always rent a car, so transportation is not an issue. Food prices are an issue with me, at most locations on the strip, but that's another story.

So all things considered, I judge the three rooms the same, all satisfactory, and a solid three stars.

    Considering the prices:
Green Valley Ranch $75 per night including the $25 resort fee
Mirage $75 per night including the resort fee
LVH $50 for two nights with offer

The winner is then clear: LVH. They deserve a kudos.

I've been to the LVH a few times, but never stayed there. Gonna have to give it a shot sometime.

    Great report. Thanks.

I agree. A few additional advantages in LVH's favor:

    1. It's a lot easier to earn comps at LVH (and they have 9/6 JOB).
    2. No resort fee, saving $25/ night.
    3. Rooms are typically cheaper beyond a few high demand conventions.

I'd take rooms at all three over other 4 Star Properties (as listed on Hotels.com) such as Monte Carlo, New York New York (and Luxor is 4 star on Priceline).

Mirage has the best location and the best casino (though it was much better when Steve ran it) but they have really small rooms/bathrooms.

Green Valley Ranch is nice if you want to be off strip, and they have the best Video Poker.

    I like all three properties.

I love the bedding at Mirage. The standard rooms have bathrooms that are way too small (Tower deluxe fixes this issue -- bigger bathroom, otherwise pretty much the same room.)

I stay at the LVH and I like it except for 2 issues..

1- There is no elevator security and people are always throwing papers under your door.

2- The check in people are always RUDE..

But i like that I have the option to go without housekeeping for 8 bucks in food or 10 in free play daily.

I think $ for $ LVH is solid, never had a problem with the rooms, and you have the monorail for strip access if you want it.
+1 on the mini fridge in the rooms, definate bonus.
Never had a problem with check in staff, maybe I,ve been lucky!!
