    My Trip Report

My wife and I decided it was time (actually I wanted to go and convinced her) for a trip to Vegas! We last visited Vegas in September 2012 with a split stay of 2 nights at Bellagio and 2 nights at the M Resort. Since we got back on the M’s radar after gambling there a couple days last trip, we decided to stay all 5 nights at the M resort in Henderson. We had two free nights with an entry into a Bingo tourney. (new for us). I usually play Video poker with some blackjack and craps thrown in for good measure. I usually play 25 cent video poker or Multistike at 25 cents which turns out to be $5 a hand since 20 coins in full pay. I planned to change things up this time and avoid Multistrike…since I have been killed on it my last few trips and move to $1 DDB or Bonus Deluxe (aka Boner Deluxe via Royal Flusher).
Our flight out of Denver was delayed over and over. We were supposed to leave DIA at 2:50 pm on Thursday. We got to airport with time to spare…at our traditional lunch at McDonalds in Terminal C and as we were eating noticed our SW flight was delayed until 3:30..no biggie. The gate was right by the center so no long walk..then another message that the flight is delayed until 415…hmm do we see a trend here? Supposedly we had the plane but no pilot or flight crew…so it seems all the problems originated from winds in Vegas. LAS had only 1 runway open. Anyway we finally left DIA at 5:45pm..ouch. We got into LAS at 7:45.oops 6:45 with time change. We waited for bags and headed to shuttle to Rental car center. When getting our bags I told Diane that it would be cool to have a Limo waiting for us with someone holding up the sign with our name. Maybe next time. Went to Alamo and went straight to the car since we are insider members and I did the early check in. We drove to the M..which is about 10 miles south of the airport straight down Las Vegas Blvd. We checked in and scored a free strip view, high floor close to elevator. We were starved so we put our bags in the room and by 8pm we were sitting in Marinellis..a nice Italian restaurant for dinner. A long day so far but we still have some gambling to do! More to follow……

Well after dinner we hit the casino. I went straight for the 32 degree bar that has lots of taps of great craft beer. (free beer when playing)..so I played $1 DDB for about an hour...up, down and all around.Hit a couple of quads but not the premium ones..so only 250 pay instead of 400 on boner deluxe. Ended up down a few hundred thanks to a fair number of full houses.
Then I met my wife at the craps table. They have 4 at the M and 2 were going that night. It's $5 min with 3x4x5 odds. Table is not too long (like at MSS) and fairly new..but wasn't super bouncy.
Anyway we rode the heels of a few decent rollers and I even tried myself with my new found knowledge on setting the dice(hardway set). I rolled maybe 15-20 times which is pretty good for me. Pass line bets with full odds...a few come bets and some place bets..a few dollar hardways for me and the dealers.
Ended up about $400 after a couple hours play.
Then we played some double deck blackjack. $15 min so I was betting 15-45 depending on the speed count. I think I won about $100 here.
Oh and I was drinking Ballast Point Sculpin IPA...excellent beer which I cant get in Colorado. Did I mention we split a bottle of CAB at dinner?
Anyway it was 1 or 2 am so we went up to our room and crashed.
    Tomorrow is SPA day!

On to day 2! We had spa appointments at 9am. I got my wife the works...massage, facial, mani and pedi. I opted for my usual spa pedicure. I got there at 9 and was taken back shortly thereafter. The person I had was great (sorry..no name) we added the paraffin foot treatment. She looked at mt finger nails and talked into a man medi...never had that but for only $25..seemed worth it.
After I was done around 11am I headed to the 32 degree bar and had an OJ, water and started playing $1 DDB again. After a little while this welcome site came up:

That hit even without the kicker which would have been really sweet put me back up for the trip. Played a couple of hours and still cashed up $500. ( and earned enough points for the seafood buffet.
When Diane joined me we split a Ruben sandwich at the Vig Deli which was huge...not sure 1 person could have eaten it. We then gambled playing Black Jack and Craps. I think I lost about $200 all total in about 3 hours.
We then decided to hot the M studio B seafood buffet. We had a free buufet coupon from a mailer (with line passes) and I had enough points for a free buffet...so we ate for free!
Oh I forgot to mention I met an interesting person while playing VP at the 32 degree bar, Dave Collins...former CF of the Cincinnati Reds during the Big Red Machine heyday! He was playing VP and betting the horses..so I bet a couple races with him and lost $80.
After dinner it was back to gambling...Diane hit the craps tables and I tried some VP without much luck. Moved from the 32 degree bar to the M bar to the high limit room. DDB is a cruel master....if you dont hit the premium quads with the kicker you are in trouble. I lost my winnings from earlier and headed to craps. Unfortunately the dice weren't as hot and by the time it was time to retire I was down $500 or so. Good thing those IPAs were tasty and "free"

On Friday afternoon we registered got the Saturday bingo tournament. Registration was in the Ravello Lounge from 3-7 pm. Just took a few minutes and we each got a bag with the schedule (1 and 5 pm Sat) , a dauber, and 2 candy bars and some pretzels...oh well at least they have free drinks.
    On to Saturday!
Each morning I would head down to Baby Cakes and get a large coffee for me and a large hot tea for Diane. I also got a muffin or roll to split.
After showering and getting dressed we gambled more until our 1pm bingo.
Today was the Kentucky Derby and the sports book was buzzing.
I don't know anything about horses but some guy next to me at the 32 degree bar liked the 5 and 8 horse...so I put $20 to win and place on each one. Oh well I found out later that was $80 down the drain...
$1 video poker was choppy at best. I would hit a non premium quad for 250 and eventually was down a couple of hundred.
Diane had fun at craps but didn't do anything of note.
The craps people at the M are great, very friendly and helpful.
The Blackjack dealers are just ok, not bad but not overly friendly in my opinion.
Around noon we headed over to the special event center for bingo. It was held in a structure to the right of the pool that looked like a big white warehouse. Inside was air conditioned but nothing special. They had long tables set up. They gibe you an electronic gizmo that tracks the numbers and paper bingo sheets. There are 15 games per session and 3 had cash prizes of $1000 and the rest were free play raging from 200-500 or so.
We didn't win anything but it was fun...(but not fun enough to go back to the 2nd session) After Bingo we split a giant corned beef sandwich at the Vig deli and I played more VP . Gambling was going slowly downhill so we decided to head over to Marenells for 1/2 price appetizers. We split a Bruscetta, each had a bowl of Minestrone and split a pizza. We were stuffed. I had a glass of Cab and Diane just had water. She was coming down with a cold. They had a great piano player at the bar, Ghalib Ghallab. He is a very personable guy who came around and talked with us for awhile.
Just a note about bingo...Almost all the prizes were split some 10 ways so not many people won much.
After dinner we gambled the rest of the night. Diane headed up to the room early fighting her cold. I got her some medicine at he essentials store. I lost another $500 at Video poker and other endeavors...but at least I was getting on their radar for all my gambling which was one of my goals. Of course it would be more fun doing this while winning!
Tomorrow we are hitting the Mirage to cash in our free Love tickets courtesy of MyVegas.

Sunday morning and Diane has this BAD cold....so I head down to the concierge to see if I can switch my MYVegas Love tickets that are for 7pm tonight....
The concierge was great. He called the Mlife/My Vegas people and I was bole to switch our seats to Monday at 7pm..and we were in the 2nd row!
I went back to the room and Diane wanted to sleep so I hit the 32 degree bar and had some FIJI water, OJ and $1 DDB...
I played a couple of hours and lost 3-4 hundred. Still no premium quads...just those 250 ones...
Around noon or so I checked in on Diane and she was feeling much better. So we decided to just hang around the M today. I made a 5pm reservation for Anthony's Steakhouse. We gambled during the afternoon playing Blackjack and Craps. I had this nice 30 minute run on BJ that I won a quick $400. Up and down in craps but enjoyed it.
Dinner was great. We both had Chilean Sea Bass. Excellent. I think I had a glass of wine.
After dinner gambled more and had a nice time...except I was coming down with a cough and cold...
Hit the sack fairly early down about $1500 for trip.
    Tomorrow is another day!

Monday, our last full day. Headed downtown for a little gambling before hitting the Mirage. Diane played Blackjack and craps breaking even. My cold was slowing me down..I couldn't find the Multisrike games..guess they got rid of them..Wandered over to a bank of $1 DDB progressive. I put in $200 and as I got down to 120 credits I get dealt 3 to a royal in spades, then this welcome sight showed up:

Wow my first dollar royal !

After hitting the royal I drove from MSS to Wells Fargo and made a deposit. Then we drove to the Mirage..split a giant corned beef sandwich at the Carnige Deli and saw Love. The show was great! Highly recommended for Beatles' fans!
The next day we got ready to check out. I visited a casino host and she comped my 5 nights and all food and beverage. Sweet!
Our plane was early and we made it back to Denver 45 minutes early!
The Royal made a good trip GREAT!
Looking forward to going back in September...I wonder if they have Limos?

Thanks for the TR. Congrats on the Royal!

I was at the M that weekend and cashed on Bingo to the tune of $25 ($250 split 11 ways :rolleyes2:). It was fun but I prefer their slot tournaments. Bingo was a little slow (2X1hr sessions) for me. I found it really ate into the day (especially Derby day!).

Bonus Deluxe is my favourite game but M has never dealt a decent version. Try RedRock/GVR/SouthPoint for 9/6 BDlx.

    Nice report, and nice hits!

Unfortunately a cold that I may or may have not received while in Vegas is helping me avoid writing one yet. One thing is for certain though, my drinking/sleep patterns while in Vegas beat my immune system down enough to catch it!
