I have a host...from a casino where I have never stayed!

I received a call from a host today. He introduced himself and said that he the host that was assigned to me. Cool, I have a host now.

The only thing is that he is based at Bally's Atlantic City. I've spent maybe an hour-total at Bally's, usually when I can't find a cocktail waitress at Caesars. You can order a drink from the slot machines at Bally's.

I'm not convinced that I want to stay at Bally's next time I'm there since they don't have any table games and they didn't have any VP games that my better half likes.

I'm sure I barely qualify for a host in the first place, so I just think it's cool that I have a host to begin with. I just think it's a little odd. I've only been to AC twice, both times since Christmas. Both times I stayed at Caesars. The first time was for one night and the second time was for two nights. I did take my typical 3-4 day trip bankroll and tried to make up for my short stay...so maybe a little higher bet level put me on the radar.

 

Bally's AC doesn't have table games? Has this always been the case? I have only been to Borgata and never heard this before.

 

It's hasn't always been the case, from what I understand. They closed down part of the casino...apparently the part of the casino with table games.

 

since when, ballys casino has a very large table games floor,sometimes the high limite isnt open but ballys has much more tables than ceasars ac does.

I think you might be talking about the Wild West casino. They did shut that down but not the main ballys casino.

 

Yeah it sounds like you never actually made it to Ballys. You're thinking of the Wild Wild West casino which is a small casino connecting Caesars and Ballys but is technically part of Ballys. If you walked there from Caesars you would have ended up in WWW first and you probably just thought that was Ballys. You'd have to go to the other end of it to get to the walkway to Ballys.

Wild Wild West has closed off its table game area for a while and its not coming back, apparently that entire little casino is going to be converted into a big bar/nightlife type place. Not sure if the slots will stay.

Not only does Ballys have a large table game area, as well as high limit and Asian games area, it probably has the biggest VP selection in AC. So you definitely didn't go there because the VP area is very prominent right by the entrance with a big sign overhead. It actually has a lot of full-pay compared to most casinos.

The crowd can get pretty ghetto though and the casino needs a serious facelift.

 

having a host is like having an insurance agent. gets the job done, but not really exciting ...

 

Every casino in AC not named Borgata or Revel needs a serious facelift. They were borderline decrepit the last time I was there in March.

Perhaps it is a geographical thing with Caesars. I've been to Caesars Windsor exactly twice, which is less often than I go to Vegas each year, but I get most of my offers from Windsor, and all host correspondance from there as well, from someone I've never met.

Windsor is probably closest to me, even if the drive time is much longer than the Vegas flight, and even flight times are similar, due to the the need to connect through Toronto.

Could be some computer somewhere is saying AC is your nearest locale, let's send 'em there.

 

Have you been to Harrahs? Its actually really nice and I don't think it needs a facelift. The crowd is good too. Caesars isn't bad but I think it should just be much better than it is since its a Caesars.

I haven't really spent any time in Showboat, just stopped in for a tournament once but it didn't look to aged from what I remember. It also had a pretty good crowd probably because of that House of Blues casino which draws a lot of the party crowd.

So as far as the CET casinos I think Ballys is the most in need of a makeover.

I played there once last year during my free Road to Rewards trip to AC. Hit Platinum in a day on 9/5 3 line $1 JOB after a few hours.

I agree. I stayed at Harrah's during my two night trip and the only thing I didn't like was the location (though you can shuttle easy to the boardwalk if you don't have a car or are drinking). The rooms were decent and the casino area was new and very nice. They also had a few 9/6 JOB machines.

The Borgota was nice as well. Didn't stay long at the Revel. AC is pretty run down since my junket trips a few decades ago, and the storm couldn't have helped.
