Wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as I am new to this discussion board. I’ve been going out to Vegas (from Los Angeles) since I was a teen to take some weekend trips with my Grandmother & Mother, mostly so my Grandma could take a little vacation, play some slots and bingo. My Mother never liked slots (she believes that there is no real skill in this and feels bored by the repetition of just pushing the button) and didn’t like table games, so she basically became a self-taught video poker player since she liked the ability to make decisions as to what to hold, etc. Once I was of age to gamble, she had taught me the basics of playing video poker and now, over a decade later, I am a serious player although I do not get the chance to do so as much as I would like. I’ve attempted to hone my playing, practicing online, and even attended a Bob Dancer seminar awhile back. Because going out to Vegas is a bit of a trek, I more often play VP at the Indian Casinos in Southern CA but try to get out to Vegas a couple times a year at the minimum. I only play VP, max bet, primarily .25 cent machines to start out and then move up to .50 cent and sometimes $1 if I am doing well. I am a M Life Gold member and almost exclusively stay at Mandalay Bay as I do VERY well with VP there. If you like VP, I highly recommend playing at Mandalay Bay! I’m coming out to Vegas in a couple weeks and am really looking forward to it as this is probably the longest gap in visiting that I can remember. I posted another thread regarding VP tournaments & hope to find a tournament in which to play while I am in town (I played in one at an Indian Casino in San Diego last year & won 2nd place - $5000!). Looking forward to getting to know you through these discussions!!!
