    Hey,

Sorry for posting this, but currently based upon our comps/offers right now it looks like its down between staying at a Planet Hollywood Hollywood Hip King ($26.24/night), a Flamingo Fab Deluxe (currently $23.20/night), or a Flamingo Go Deluxe ($39.20/night). I've been to Vegas before, but I've never really paid much attention to PH or Flamingo since I've had the luxury or staying at the Wynn or MB. I know Planet Hollywood probably has the nicest basic rooms for that value, but from the looks of it their pool is kind of beat where the Flamingo pool looks pretty nice. But the Flamingo fab deluxe rooms appear to be recently remodeled. How are they? Is the GO room worth paying for an upgrade? The pool is important, and I don't want such a dull hotel this time. What is the biggest thing I should know about Flamingo before staying there? Should we just stick to our initial instincts and go with PH?

    Thanks!!

If you have never stayed at Flamingo I would recommend it.
Watch a few youtube videos on both room types and on the PH hotel room type.

The standard room at Flamingo is a standard room, no frills but recently renovated. I prefer the Go room as there is a little more character to it.

People may say that PH has better food or gaming...who care? - Then walk there for the food or casino.

Hard to beat the Pool at Flamingo for the price range it is in!

Pool is the only advantage, and the PHo will be less crowded. The PHo standard rooms are very nice with a better location (outside of Linq / Gigglesnort Hotel construction zone hell).

Flamingo guests poolside get noise during construction. Guests have reported being awaken to sledgehammers early in the morning (You'll want Strip view to avoid Linq construction). Go Deluxe Rooms are worth the $16/night difference. I'd take Fab room strip view over Go Deluxe facing construction if you end up at Flamingo.

If this was post construction (in 2014), I'd recommend the Flamingo Go room and your preferred pool, but this year I'd stick with the PHo offer. I cancelled my earlier Flamingo comp because I do not want to deal with the construction (in room / surrounding area).

Flamingo, the rooms may not be as nice, but the place has a lot more character than PHo, we were there in September, the furnishings were a little dated, but we had a cheap rate and what do you expect. But it is a quick walk to the strip, and the pool is better. Small so it has less of a corporate feel in my mind.

Never thought about the construction. Is it still bad?

Flamingo is a dump, really, no way around it, the GO rooms are pretty cool, but still, not worth staying there. No good restaurants (I literally wouldn't eat anything in the hotel), the casino is old and small. The hallways and elevators are in disrepair, it smelled the last time I was there... Also all the construction in that area is inconvenient. It's quite a step down. If it's the cheapest in town it's cool (like I scored it for $10 a night last year), but since PH is cheaper anyways, you'd be crazy to not stay there!

PH the rooms are slightly outdated, but perfectly fine and clean I've stayed there a few times recently, tons of good restaurants, and easy access to Paris. Huge shopping mall, GREAT location, all my trips there I don't ever have to drive, I can almost walk anywhere I want to go. I mean it's a big step up from Flamingo. The biggest complaint about PH is the self parking being so far. Unless you really want "old vegas" character...

Overall though, neither hotel are a favorite of mine, but I'd pick PH over Flamingo anyday

What I find offensive at the Flamingo is the air freshener smell that they pump in throughout the entire ground floor, casino, etc. It smells like a coconut/tropical scent that is supposed to go along with the "flamingo" theme. It is even noticeable as you pass by the open doors to the Strip. To me, it's an outdated and unpleasant sense.

At those prices, absolutely not a doubt..... PH!

I have stayed in the Hollywood Hip rooms and are just fine. The bathroom is great, the room is large, and the room was clean. The casino and atmosphere are so much better too.

Flamingo is a dump, plain and simple. If you do decide on Flamingo, absolutely pick the GO room.

I have to say, i stayed at the Flamingo last year and i loved it! The go deluxe room was incredible for its price. Also love the location and the older casino does not bother me a bit. I actually like it because its oldschool.

For shopping and dining i would recomment the PH. But in my opinion the location and the room is more important than the stuff downstairs your room. You can walk around and check out different places for dining, gambling or whatever you feel like..

If the pool is important Flamingo wins this one by a mile. That pool is crazy and full of talent. PHO pool blows. It's just that simple. Way way better party scene for you boys at Flamingo.

I would upgrade to the Go room if that became your choice. I've got a Go room booked for the end of May for my annual 35th bday but that is only because I can't get Caesars comped for four nights. I could get a Resort room at PHO but I am taking the inferior Go room just for the pool. That should tell you something right there about the pool difference.

For 30 something boys....I think you will be quite happy with the pool.

Were this based on rooms/restaurants then I would say PHO. I only stay at PHO in non-pool weather.

Let us know how it goes!

Blah! As soon as I'm feeling one way, another poster comes along and pushes me the other way. The users here seem to be pretty evenly split as well. Don't know what to do. I'm going in August which is definitely pool weather. But idk if I'll be able to stand the construction. My friends are comped at Caesars that week, so I'm wondering if I'll be able to spend some pool days over there (I know, pool crashing is frowned upon here).

Wish CET would just give me a Caesars room. I made DIAD last week, though the rates got better I got nothing completely comped except Harrahs and the Quad. That's what 6500 tier credits in one day gets you I guess.

    Personally

I'd stay at PH (nicer rooms & resort) & pool it at Caesars with your friends. U r allowed to use Caesars pool if u stay at any CET property.

You will neither hear the noise from the construction nor see it from the pool at the Flamingo. Trust me. The music is loud and the bikini clad girls dancing at the pool will have your utmost attention.

I will reiterate for you my decision is based on pool only. PHO wins in every other category. Although if you choose a GO room over the standard room PHO that is an upgrade. Standard remodeled rooms at Flammy still are below a PHO standard in my opinion. I have stayed at both places in last 6 months as well as Caesars.

I even stayed at the Quad last weekend after vowing to never stay there again because I couldn't get anyplace comped that weekend.

Once again, if you are guys looking to party and kick it up a notch, Flammy wins over PHO and Caesars. Caesars is a lot more laid back with less talent than the Flamingo.

No matter what you pick though, there will be girls at every pool, you will be in Vegas, and you won't feel out of place at any of them.

    Suggestion

I never stayed at the Flamingo
    Just came back from PH
I just had a hip deluxe room at PH but it was ok( with the comps i stayed 2,5 weeks and i didnt had to pay, last couple of times i had a suite but well)
I would recommend ph over flamingo as of the construction at the linque
Last time i was at paris and liked that better but maybe it was i had a suite there and that rocked( although it costed me a bit)
